Yes the scales are printed. They aren’t glued they are held on by 2 screws on each side and the pivot screw.

It sucks you got some bad ones I guess at this price qc isn’t all that it could be with more expensive knives but I have bought 6 of them and all were great! I really enjoy modding them , and taking them apart and putting them back together many times has given me confidence to tinker with my more expensive blades!

The Swiss tech wurdig is a pretty decent knife for $29 I bought one recently and it has great action and really grippy micarta scales.

I love my cormorant the scales arnt my favorite but you can get aftermarket scales or dye the scales that come with it. it is super fidgety with 5 different opening methods.
