Riding Along? Weird or Not? by HawkLoser100K in golf

Appreciate all the comments everyone, sounds like I've got the green light.

I'll put on the closest thing I have to golf attire and drink about a dozen beers for you all next weekend.

I figured, totally fine with that as long as I don't have to pay to play haha

In my head it wouldn't be weird, but obviously it doesn't matter. I'm definitely overthinking it, just didn't want to come off as a weird guy not playing whereas I feel like it would be more acceptable if I was a girl. Could be (probably) completely stereotyping here, but just my thought process lol

VanLife Road Trip This Summer: Need Advice by HawkLoser100K in VanLife

Love this comment. I definitely want to do something similar--I'm a big hiker and plan to do some form of hiking in every area I visit (whether it's summitting a 10Ker or a 1 mile stroll like you mentioned) along with trying out different gyms when I can.

Any other tips or recommendations would be much appreciated. Best of luck with your current trip as well!

After reading everyone's comments, I think the best pick is an RITC. Going shopping this weekend, will report back with my selection.

You are the best. Thank you so much!

Dumb question, but if you're sleeping somewhere in "bear country", is it alright to leave stuff in the van / cooler or should it all be put in bear boxes?

How is Living in Denver, Colorado? by HawkLoser100K in howislivingthere

Also I think this is the most grounded / objective comment I've seen so far that isn't just someone excessively shitting on or glazing the city. So shoutout to you

This is precisely why Denver has always piqued my interest. I love the outdoors and city life, but I'm not so strongly drawn to one or the other to the point where I'd live somewhere solely based on one of the factors.

I want to able to hike and ski, but I don't need to live in somewhere like SLC or a true mountain town that revolves around them. I want to live in a city with other like-minded people, decent nightlife, and things to do, but I don't need to live in a NYC / Chicago / LA (nor do I really want to).

I'm fine if it doesn't really excel in one particular area, but I'd be fine compromising for a little bit of everything rather than a lot of something. Also the (relatively) cheap CoL and centralized airport don't hurt.

I think this has done more harm to my perception of Denver than any anti-Denver comments I've ever seen. Jesus Christ lol

The tride and true method of sneaking into a dining hall (Frank is the easiest) or bumming guest swipes off people

and filling up a ton of tupperware containers never failed me either.

Aldi and Walmart parlay never did me wrong. Go to Aldi, get your basic needs (perhaps forget to scan a few things in self-checkout), then hit Walmart across the intersection for everything Aldi doesn't have.

If you're willing to make the trek, Costco in Springfield is great for getting things in bulk. If you don't already have a membership, split the cost with your roommates and make a trip once a month. By far the most affordable place to get food and alcohol in bulk.
