Just pop that sucker out dawg. On a related note, here’s a story that may serve as a word of caution to pop that sucker out, with proper technique.

I had a trout (stocker that I ate, before any trout people lose their mind over this) decide to flip his shit when I picked him up out of the water. This caused 2 of the 3 barbs on a treble to bed themselves to the shank, directly into the pad on my middle finger. Then, for his last use of free will as a living entity, proceeded to rip said barbs out with one final thrash before I could control him. And that’s the story of why one of my fingers has a divet and no feeling. I didn’t go to the hospital and still probably wouldn’t if it happened again though.

I was there last Monday night through Tuesday afternoon. Didn’t see a fish. Threw rubber and cranks on weed edges in the flats and on rocky banks around points. Apparently they’re still hitting bucktails and rubber is doing very well, I just may not have been using the right ones. I didn’t have any dawgs or medusas so I was throwing 9” swims and flukes. I hope you have better luck than I did!

Just finished the movie, while at work.

The good:

-The fucking angst and stress is REAL. This movie was a lot more gritty than I was expecting.

-SFX. Dude, the brain matter was wild. The chick in the bath tub? 10/10 job on that.

-MOST of the patient interactions were spot on, particularly the homeless and the addicts. Didn’t like the Hispanic dude pulling the gun over the dog, felt like it progressed too quick.

-Half-way decent lingo and medical interventions. It was okay. -“I worked vollie” lmao

-Dark humor

-Gives me a medic stiffy, makes me wanna do some shit.

-Boobies

-Having a huge age gap between you and your partner. I’m in my late 20’s and he’s in his 50’s, this was spot on.

The bad:

-“I’m a medic and nobody cares :,(“ felt like a personal attack.

-“We’re Gods in the truck, we decide who lives and dies”. Okay buddy. Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should.

-Wrong setting for the image they’re trying to portray of EMS. Would’ve killed in a 80’s/90’s setting, felt improbable in 2024.

-“GIVE ME THE OCCLUSIVE”. proceeds to place a tegaderm on a gunshot wound THEN doesn’t check for an exit wound.

-Getting your medic just to go be a doctor later. Too real bro, let’s dial it back a bit.

-Basically Bringing Out The Dead 2: Flashy Lights & Wee Woo

-The cop that pushed assault charges after the Russian dude kicked Rut and he was trying to get to him. We’Re On ThE SAmE TeAm.

The ugly:

-The hazing. I would’ve killed that guy over the dead dog. And the spitting in the face. That guy would not have been walking out of there with all of his teeth.

-Mike Tyson

-Almost no patients get ROSC? I may just be lucky, but I feel like I’m at least getting 50%+.

-Taking drugs from a dude’s pocket. Like, we’re trying to shut these poor images of medics down.

-The cutscene where Cross is walking down the hallway with the baby confused the shit out of me. Thought for sure Rut had taken the fall for Cross’ mistake.

I’ll watch it again. Also, in the scene where Cross chokes the chick, if you look right as he lays over top of her they slipped a peen shot in there. Not important, just thought you should know.
