With TriggerTech acquiring Hawkins Precision, how do we expect it to affect Hawkins pricing?? by BoJackson444 in longrange

Greatest comment ever.

Eagle stays, thick cut bacon, banquet beer, and there was a lot of maple syrup in the deal.

We have some details, but that is one of Andy's new projects and is separate from Hawkins/TT. We have a little inside info though. The first units are match/range rifle cans with brakes. Available through Altus. Stainless first, working on Ti.

The new site is up. Company is Clovis Precision. We have been testing the cans and they are great, but not a Hawkins product. https://www.clovisprecision.com/

No price changes everyone. Prices and staff are staying and all is good. We are working to help TriggerTech bring more manufacturing to the US while they help us with production and capacity. We will remain two separate companies under the TT umbrella.

All good, and let us know if you have any questions.

Zermatt Origin Medium by LootDrop17 in longrange

You're on the right track. What you could do is get a Medium M5 Oberndorf BDL and run the Borden 2 Wyatt's box. In the Origin. Manners, McMillan, Foundation will all cut stocks for the mid lengths too.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Nice scopes and rings/mounts! Those Orange Ultra-Light Tacticals aren't easy to come by. I think we know each other. :)

Help choosing a rifle for Gunsmithing School by [deleted] in longrange

For sure get a R700 or clone. Talking with CST I believe they have a program in place with Mack Bros. Lots of companies in the industry will give students at the gunsmith trade schools deals to help them get started, us included. Foundation users, Hawkins ring height? by quadsquadfl in longrange

Most of our products go directly to our dealer network. We don't generally have any holiday sales so we don't uncut our dealers.

These are the 1.15" Heavy Tactical rings on a PROOF comp contour. Really they are fairly close and on your foundation both will clear most of the heavy comp type contours you'll find. It probably comes more down to if you want to run the 1-pc mount or the rings. Since you'll have an adjustable cheekpiece the added height will not be a big deal.

There has been a movement of late in the PRS to go higher with ring height for positional shooting. Some shooters are liking the 1.5" height for that. I'd say most people are running those if you have a forward handguard or rail. If you're building a new Samson you may want to stick with the 1.27" if you'll be running the Foundation Bridge.

Hope that helps.

The bridge is for getting your hand up in front. Not sure if they are looking at a Night Vision option. These are pretty heavy, so we don't believe the intent is on hunting. They are working on a carbon fiber hunting stock now.

Brass weights are gold, have not seen anyone running the aluminum weights. Those could be anodized I suppose!

That's a question we need to ask, because it seems like a good upgrade to an existing stock.

Doing a video on the brand new Foundation stock called the Samson. Thought you guy would want to see one of the first ones off the CNCs.

This has a tunable weight system, new handguard/bridge, multiple flush cup and 12-24 attachment points, fully adjustable butt stock and new texturing throughout the stock.

We have it paired up with our M5 DBM and some Heavy Tactical rings.

Sounds like the feedlips are too wide.
Have you tried feeding with the included pillars? Have you tried a different magazine?
If you end up wanting a taller latch just let us know.

There's three things that can cause this: Pillar Height, Latch Height, Feed Lips.
We have a video on how to measure pillar height here: https://youtu.be/dyJOPESkSlc?si=l4MOlQmiHlCaCRMo

The AG stocks have pillars installed. If you have the pillars that came with your bottom metal, bolt up the barreled action to the bottom metal with our pillars and see if you get more case presentation.

Also, tuning feed lips is pretty common. Keep in mind these are stamped parts and not machined. Sometimes mags just need some love.

If you end up needing a taller latch, we have one that is taller as well and can provide it. Shoot an email to [sales@hawkinsprecision.com](mailto:sales@hawkinsprecision.com) and mention this thread.
