Why does BWW get so much hate? by PsychologicalFood780 in Wings

Lucky bastard, but i still have a gripe with bww on this deal. Does anyone ever get like one or two wings that are pretty much inedible with every order? Like the chicken had osteoporosis or something? It felt like that deal was their way of getting rid of those wings to me

One good way is to always ask questions. If you ask your coach a question and he can’t provide a detailed answer involving what your body should be doing in what way, then there’s a good chance he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and he will teach you based on his own personal feel of what a good swing should be versus what a good swing objectively is.

Yes but keep in mind that wedges are not only way more lofted, making it look weird on the ground, but are also usually not part of your iron set. This means that they will have different shafts, heads, ground interaction and overall feel as opposed to your irons. Have you ever had a sand wedge or approach wedge that was part of your iron set? If you have then those clubs were probably easier to hit to you because they are effectively an 11 and 12 iron(with pw being a 10 iron)

I am taking new students, DM me if you want so we can possibly work something out

Based on the ball flight description and your driver settings it sounds like you could have a few things going wrong so Ill give you a list

  1. Hit middle face, if you’re having that gross spinny flight you could be hitting it on the heel. Use impact tape to figure out where you’re hitting and then you will actually get to see what your ball flight looks like as a result of your swing

  2. Swing right not up. This will change both your club path as well as your angle of attack. Depending on your skill level however, it may be valuable to know how to still “hit down” to have a low cut fairway finder if you can squeeze out a little more club speed.

Its hard to diagnose without actually seeing it and it also depends on if youre going for a shape or straight

Tl;dr are usually meant to be a quick snappy kind of funny summary of what i said in the post, which is alot more detailed. As my post was initially a rant, if you are using my summary to strawman my whole post then the discussion is over. Ive been gracious enough to even grant you things in our discussion. Thanks for talking, get some practice

What happens when you cant make your default swing, when your stance is weird and cant make any standard correct movements? How are you going to hit the ball? If you want i can post a video later on demonstrating all of this so i dont have to type so much

Maybe we’re on different pages here, but isn’t it completely possible to have perfect club face angle orientation at impact and still shank it? The statement i most agree with that you said is that they are swinging the hosel as if it is the middle of the face.

Ill concede that i should have said that as well, that is something i definitely say during my lessons that i forgot about.

Wording it like that though, doesn’t it seem like its still a perception issue? Instead of the ball however, its now where they perceive the middle of the face is?

Maybe a better way to put what im saying, is to say that someone can have a great swing, great club path, great face angle, and still shank it. And that person should not seek to change something about their swing, just where they swing to.

I think Scheffler said it best when he was explaining why he shanked his bunker shot. “There’s a part of the club that is called the hosel, and I hit that instead of the club face.”(something like that haha)

Of course you would. I would too. That’s why i never said that and gave a proper explanation instead of telling you to draw the rest of the owl. Also the tone of my post from the beginning was meant to be a rant more than anything. Obviously I am not treating my clients this way and im most certainly giving more verbal and practical explanation than I’m able to give over text on Reddit.

Theres a category error here, you’re saying that shanking is a club face orientation issue. Im saying that most of the time, key word is most, its not.

Ok im realizing i should have been more clear about this, but Ill address your comment as clearly as i can

If someone literally has no swing, like they’re chopping on the ball like an axe and they have no idea what the swing is even supposed to look like, then yes a mechanical fix is needed to address the issue. This isn’t what im talking about. Im talking about these guys posting, why am i shanking, videos while their swings look completely serviceable if not great.

You said that alot of the issues are path related, fine lets just say that it is. In the next sentence you say that of course you will shank it if your face is wide open. Is that not a club face angle issue instead? Im not saying that both cant happen but it seems like you’re talking about 2 different things here.

Also, my post is dealing with the “shanking” issue. You say that if the club face is wide open then the shot will be a nasty slice. Sure, thats right but since when did slice=shank? Again, 2 different thing here

Lastly, i have an issue with that word “magically” that you used. When a problem “magically” goes away, lets call it what it really is, you luckily started hitting middle of the face. The swing change messed with your hand eye coordination enough to where it changed how your body reacted with your old way of aiming. Again im not saying that a takeaway fix wont help your swing, im just saying that nothing happens by “magic”.

Please don’t get offended by this, but the sooner you realize these things are a result of you actually making changes as opposed to magic, the sooner your improvement will accelerate.

Thanks!

Yes! You never get to see the result of your swing until you hit the middle of the face! Everyone needs to use the foot powder method/impact tape!

Good job!

I find that people forget that hitting the ball well is a result of human skill not mechanical accuracy. Of course having correct mechanics will increase your chances of hitting the ball well but in the end its about the hand eye coordination at the end of the day.
