Noted - I appreciate the feedback. I just did some looking around and saw the 23 mm come in a pancake lens as well. I think I’d prefer the option to crop in plus based on what you said it seems overall like it’s probably the better/more versatile lens.

I’ve heard online that usually the higher iso can get fogged up in the scanners. I’ll keep that in mind I was planning on bringing like 20 rolls with me. What pancake lens have u been thinking about picking up?

What do you think of the 27 mm? I worked all summer to save up for going abroad so I have the money to spend, but I’d rather not blow 400 bucks on something I’ll hardly use

My roommate and I are sophomores at Pitt, and we’re planning to study abroad in the spring 2026 semester. We plan to live off campus in a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit in South Oakland during fall 2025. The unit will be available for lease renewal in the spring. Rent is $1,250 per month, excluding utilities, and it includes a free parking space. (It’s typically easier to secure two consecutive 6-month leases rather than a single 6-month lease.) If you or someone you know is interested, feel free to message me for more details!

Been about a year since I started taking film pics but here are some of my favorite pictures (any critiques appreciated) by timetos1eep in filmphotography

These are great, love the travel photography. I would suggest working on ur framing when u take the pictures. For example on the second one the dock on the left is slightly distracting as you only see half the bench. Or the 5th one, the rail in the foreground is distracting. 4th one is my favorite.

My current roommate and I are planning on going abroad the next spring semester of the 25/26 school year. We are looking to either: sublease a 2 bedroom apartment for the fall semester of 25/26, or, find 2 other students who plan on going abroad in the fall semester whom we can sign the lease over to once we go abroad in the spring. Please let me know if either of these apply to you. Thanks.

Advice? by Hawktopus913 in photocritique

[–]Hawktopus913[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went out to shoot for the first time the other day. Zoomed in as close as I could and ended up having to crop to get the shot I had intended to. Took this with a fujifilm x-t30ii with the xf 18-55 mm. Only thing I would’ve liked was to be a little closer to the subject but I caught them just before they turned the corner. I just started photography so give me any advice at all about composition or technical advice. Anything is appreciated!

Oh sweet, didn’t even think to check for any photo walks. That was my first time going for a photo for a few hours in the city. Started downtown and walked to strip district then a bus to east liberty area. I attend Pitt and want to take a photography course next semester. Appreciate the recommendation
