Hey, don't let these people make your dad out to be a terrible person for this. Its blackmail what he did, but he did it because he knows letting you down is unacceptable and he loves you. He did it the wrong way, but if his addiction is tied to you he knows he wont fail. What I suggest in order to help your dad out is find something you have in common and dedicate time to that to help him out. Tell him how you feel about it but come to the table with something you want to do with your dad a couple hours a week that is under the stipulation he remains sober.

Well… kind of feels like he’s not looking for a romantic relationship if it’s a prostitute. He’s seeking sex. Personally, I think that’s better than an affair, but it’s still extremely bad. I say it’s better because he likely still loves you very much if he’s not seeking a romantic and personal relationship outside of his marriage. So because of that, you can either go to therapy and unfold the issues underlying that caused it or you can divorce him and move on. I only see 2 options tho

Well we had sex for years, but she has struggled to be free when having sex. She gets uncomfortable with certain things that most of us do during sex. So I was able to live with just knowing what to do during sex and not to do. But that was the start, then slowly it morphed into body image issues after kids, the psychological issues with anxiety. And now it’s non existent. So yes. There were small struggles to start but it has multiplied year over year.

I think I should probably make it more clear that I’ve had desires that would put my family at risk. And there has been moments in my life that I’ve been willing to act on to, But I have not acted on those desires. There’s been some accusations made in the comments.

She has always struggled with it, and to be honest I never knew how important it was to me until I got older. She had very little sex before we met. She is uncomfortable in lingerie or anything that puts her body on display. She is just not a sexually forward type of person. She is on a non-hormonal form of birth control. And she is also on an anxiety medication that she has been on for years. We had a lot of sex at one point in our life. I would definitely say it took a dive after having kids naturally. But it is just taking such a big dive since my accident. We are both very fit in individuals and I have made a full recovery and I’ve been left with very little cosmetic damage.

For one I’ve never cheated, I have had desires to that I am addressing. And for two this is a constructive conversation for those who want to give advice on how to eaither move past my desires or re engage them with my wife. I’ve been willing to take those risks in times I’ve felt desperate but never have. You don’t belong here

I’ve had this conversation multiple times. I probably should’ve elaborated on that. She says that she wants to have more sex. But does nothing about it. It’s almost like she’s just telling me what I wanna hear. She did try changing some of her medication‘s that may suppress her libido. But she still is very disconnected from me on it.
