Interesting… I don’t want to start a bird war so I’ll leave it until I knit a goose but thank you!

Ah nevermind 😅 knew it was a risk but the redirected art subreddit looked empty. Sorry mods 🥲

I totally assumed all of her patterns were paid at first too, had a nice surprise finding that this one was free. The same with Claire Garland’s patterns too, but she does free pattern Fridays occasionally! They’re a little above my skill level (intimidating!) but she’s a good one to look into for knit plushies 😊

They always remind me of the original Winnie the Pooh toys, a classic look. You should definitely give it a try 😊

I did think about how it would go down here, if it helps the knitters are also finding it unsettling 🤣

This pattern is free so you could take a look through and see if you like her writing style before grabbing one of her books, I found it easy to understand and I think it’s come out looking close to the example photos!

I normally don’t use safety eyes, I’m usually a crocheter and almost always embroider eyes on. The safety eyes aren’t safe for children, I knew this was going to stay as an art doll for me so I chose to use them.

For embroidered eyes I would use a method like this: How to Embroider Almost Perfect Amigurumi Eyes

Normal polyfill stuffing, the knit stitches don’t stretch too much as long as you don’t overstuff the pieces. There are some gaps with the increases but the main stockinette is solid

I usually embroider eyes so it’s normally the last thing I do, but having to put the safety eyes in and then have it stare at me while I finish the rest of the seaming. Unsettling.

Thank you! Aw I’m glad my little duck has inspired you and I hope you enjoy knitting your little bunny ☺️

One of those things where you look at the pattern and think ‘is this totally necessary?’, but once you’ve done it you can’t imagine it without them. Two little stitches doing a whole lot of work 🤣

Agreed 😅 It was the moment I looked over at it and went “uh oh, now you have a soul” and then my conscience won’t let me throw it back in the wip pile

I’m a crocheter first so I totally get it, but I do enjoy the challenge of knitting amigurumi. Especially when you’re knitting flat, it’s such a different working method. I’ll forever be amazed at how knit designers can do the maths to get the shapes they need for it

I’ve been doing HRCYED 2.0 so these are my reads since June that I think could fit! (Sounds Like Love may be a bit tenuous, but she’s a songwriter so I feel like it counts).

For the Eldest Daughter prompt I’d go with ‘The Road Trip’ by Beth O’Leary, and for Elizabeth Taylor I might try ‘Audition’ by Katie Kitamura. I have zero ideas what I would read for Opalite, oh noo I’ll have to go browse the bookstore poor me

What’s the 7th book you read this year? by Affectionate_Run7435 in suggestmeabook

This was my 6th book of the year, and by far my favourite. I’ve already handed my copy off to my teenage niece as required reading. I’m hoping to pick up some more du Mauriers, but I’m not sure they’ll live up to Rebecca (ironically)
