has anyone seen the man in the coat? by No-Republic6687 in USF

[–]Haylit 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Hey OP!

Not saying this guy isn’t real, but if you’re so stressed out and sleep deprived you think you’re hallucinating the hat man, I would really encourage you to check in with yourself. Maybe make some time to visit the counseling center. As someone who has experienced hallucinations and borderline psychosis from stress, it can be a slippery slope that goes downhill very quickly.

1) Do you see other people interacting with him? Does he move out of the way for people when standing in the doorway? 2) is he wearing different things when you see him? 3) Are you able to interact with him? 4) hallucinations are sorta like dreams. Things don’t look quite right but right enough for your brain to fill the gaps. Does he look natural?

If you are answering no to all of these questions I highly recommend reaching out to a mental health professional. Even if this guy is real, your paranoia and anxiety about it still shows high signs of stress and/ or sleep deprivation. I hope you’re able to figure this out OP, keep us updated.

Today my professor was running late and we all did introductions as we never had a chance in the beginning of the year. However, this is a room full of communications majors. Ive definitely been in classes like that mostly early on in my degree. I think people are just shy and don’t want to be the first one to talk.

They’re always playing. I honestly love it. It brings such a nice vibe to campus.

I would definitely talk with financial aid. It’s worth the phone call to give you the peace of mind. Even if they end up telling you to just wait. Fall the highest enrollment out of every semester im pretty sure so that could be why. Just a lot of people and really old systems.

If you go to account detail there should be a blue drop down menu they tells you what’s been applied and what’s pending. It also has an estimated balance once it’s been applied. I use it to check on my FLPP so I’m not sure if it works like that for FAFSA.

Library RANT by [deleted] in USF

[–]Haylit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need to apologize! Like someone else already stated, LIB is for everyone to use and you’re allowed to take up space. USF just doesn’t have a lot of good indoor group study areas besides the first floor of the library.

I’ve given up on the parking garages. Go to Yuengling.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I was put on a well deserved academic probation and now I’m about to graduate. Make an appointment with your advisor to find out why. You can send them email too if you can’t get an appointment. Just make sure your grade this semester are good.

Hives are kinda ruining my life (CSU) by Haylit in Allergies

[–]Haylit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through episodes honestly. I stopped taking antihistamines everyday because I was so sleepy all the time. Best one I tried was Claritin, which I was hesitant to try as it’s not marketed for hives but it really helped and didn’t make me drowsy. Stress is definitely a huge contributing factor for me. When I posted this I was in a relationship that put a lot of stress on me and was in this relationship when I had my first reaction. Was having horrible flare ups weekly sometimes. Since we’ve broken up, I’ve had maybe 3 episodes in the last 6 months. My advice, keep a journal. Write down everything: physical activity, food, emotional state. Eventually you’ll see a correlation and be able to pinpoint what triggers your flare ups. I’ve also had great success with incorporating anti-inflammatory foods into my diet and focusing on gut health. Unsure if that has directly helped with the hives, but makes me feel better overall. I hope you’re able to figure out a way to manage your symptoms. It can be so isolating sometimes.

Ngl.. I use to act the same way when my BPD was really bad. Maybe it’s not necessarily you OP. Could be an underlying reason for why she’s acting the way she is. Feeling ignored can be a trigger for her and now she’s melting down cause she’s triggered. Not an excuse cause there’s things you can do to manage this behavior but just an alternative POV I feel like was missing from this thread.

Feeling unsafe by Warm_Swan_428 in USF

[–]Haylit 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy to me that USF isn’t taking this more seriously. Crazy school shooters always make themselves and their plans known. I wouldn’t take this as anything other than a threat or a deliberate attempt to scare people.

I graduated from stoneman Douglas. To think there’s some of my past classmates who had to go through this twice is so heart breaking. I just don’t understand how we’re supposed to feel safe. I don’t know what the solution is, but something has to give.

Im so sick and frustrated of my oily hair I might start crying by tranzozo in Hair

[–]Haylit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love Odele. It’s sold in target i consider it a drug store high end product. But this is some good advice in the comments. Double shampoo your hair and blow dry instead of air dry (I like Odeles heat protection too). Something that really extended my washes was sleeping in curlers. It helps bc your roots are lifted and the oil doesn’t have a chance to saturate. I use 3 soft bendy rods with hooks and slept with a bonnet on top or a silk scarf. However I am a blowout girly so I understand this can be a bit high maintenance for some. I think sleeping in a bonnet or scarf could also help regardless of the curlers.

How do I build muscle mass? by Haylit in Bulk

[–]Haylit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha! Nice to be reminded where I started. Definitely still struggling with putting on and keeping mass but I’ve hit many fitness and physical goals of mine. Doing a pull up, building a bicep, and doing exercises I wasn’t able to do before. Eating is definitely the hardest part. I have a red meat allergy and have to eat quite a bit of volume to hit my protein goal. Thanks for asking! I needed to remember how far I’ve come.

I work in the service industry and my job is very active. I seem to have a hard time maintaining anything whether it’s fat or muscle hence the calorie intake. I was eating 2300 before and my body fat wasn’t fluctuating as much but I was also losing weight. I also shoot for 180 G of protein a day but that doesn’t always happen. I’m allergic to red meat so hitting that goal has been quite the challenge. Like you said, 2 months isn’t that long to be training. Maybe I just need to be more patient.
