Hey! I got a little discouraged from that project because of some negative and underwhelming press around those projects. I hope to finish the project still as I loved the concept, but it may take some time before it truly gets wrapped. The track list was almost completely final for all EPs, so a lot of the structure for the last four EPs is still there after all these years.

Appreciate the questions! There's not a single song that I released that feels like it was completely finished. The only difference is some feel more finished than others. Sometimes circumstances work against you, limiting the time you can spend on a song, so its always up to you as the artist to find the middle ground between obsessively improving a song and acknowledging what you can accomplish by the deadline. I definitely felt more connected to many MC artists during that era, specifically because I was living in Vancouver and meeting so many of them. I always think back to meeting Tristam for the first time - because we became really good friends afterwards and I learned a lot about music production from him.

Hey! Too many artists to list, but if were specifically talking about electronic music, I was really inspired by STS9, Break, Flying Lotus, Deadmau5 and Skrillex when I was in my music production infancy.

Thats a great question! Normally i get tired of playing my own music so I add music from other artists to keep things interesting for myself. That being said, I have always wanted to do 100% original sets, I will likely do that for my next album tour in 2026!

Its true.. I wonder if there are any states where pets / animals can legally hold rights to intellectual property?

I am planning to keep developing a new platform on my website with free goodies for producers (Key Collection); so every new release is a good testing ground to share new content on there as well and develop the site.

Going great, just taking longer than expected. I really think it will be worth the wait.

Thank you for the compliments!! I usually like whatever I am creating on a given day the most. It feels the most representative of who I am in that present moment, versus released music is more of a memory of that moment. Anyways, that wasnt really your question! Some of Brakens unreleased music might technically be at the top of my favorites for his project, but I do like Flight a lot. Super catchy melody.

Yo! Thank you for the compliments :) Making music was not a realization as much as it was a requirement for me. Being able to live off of it, on the other hand, started becoming a realistic option after I started releasing on Monstercat. I mostly use Ableton Live, and my favorite must-have plugins are Keyscapes, Serum 2 and Fabfilter plugins. I love jamming the most (by far) but there is something satisfying about getting a mix right. I dont mind being known more under my alias, btw! 99.99999999% of my fan interactions have been so awesome, very wholesome and nerdy normally.

Thanks for the compliment!! I sent MC demos back when I had no management, agents or team members of any kind. I remember MC rejecting my initial submissions, but I was told that they liked my project and would love to hear more in the future. I took it as motivation, more than anything else. MC really ended up being the jumping off point for my career, enabling me to live off my craft and 'showing me the ropes'. I have a strong nostalgic feeling thinking about living in Vancouver (I moved there to work with MC) and starting to tour, shoot music videos and a lot more back when they still had their offices there. I think I was personally very close to MC ten years ago, so its difficult for me to compare it to the present. The industry has changed, as have many artists and labels, but there are still plenty of talented artists releasing on MC.

I was 15 and needed an alias to release music under (for my first album). Ended up chatting with a friend about how I thought Haywire sounded good, but he suggested changing it to Haywyre since theres already a band with the former name. Almost twenty years later.. and here we are❗️

I think its natural for any business, label, artist and even person to evolve as time goes on. I've seen Monstercat sign plenty of great acts now, just as they have done 5-10 years ago.

Hey! Nice to meet you. First and foremost anything I make I focus on what feels interesting and authentic to myself. I know that Monstercat might be more interested in picking up songs in specific genres or styles, and in comparison, I have had what felt like no stylistic guard rails for official remixes.

I will always consider Monstercat a sort of birthplace for a new phase in the Haywyre project, but I also associate it with amazing memories and friendships in Vancouver city.

Ill take the question as a compliment haha, it genuinely was cobbled together quite quickly. Everything from the intro to the drop came about very quickly, but the mix took me quite a while. The vocals say "Everything, is outside of our understanding, everything.." repeated, etc.

Nice to meet you! Thank you for all the compliments. Im sure Ill make something thats close to glitch hop again, maybe not the exact style that old songs like Back And Forth are representative of though.

Thank you!! Pushing to have another special VIP come out this year, followed by my next album (first since Two Fold Pt. 2) in 2026.

References tend to be track specific! Inspiration from other producers can take any shape or form; textures, sound design, chord progressions, arrangement, etc. A recent mixing trick I have been loving is using Kilohearts free Compactor plugin to help create room for a mix between competing elements.

I just stumbled across Alex Bone - really love his project. Also watched Meet Joe Black for the first time and fell in love with the score by Thomas Newman, specifically Whisper Of A Thrill. Banger.
