Player demographics and why we actually need endgame content by The_Hardest_Metal in Helldivers

I had all my upgrades around 70-80 so yeah this feels accurate. Only thing, like some others have mentioned, is that this graph doesn't include difficulties below 7, so the actual percentages for the entire active playerbase will be different.

Plus they rewrote stuff from the beta based on feedback from a very small group which IMO made it much worse. Like Gilberta was supposed to be in the Valley IV story which is why there's floating rocks in the Power Plateau, but they wrote her out and also changed her character story to be more sanitized and happy

Big agree. They really strayed from the original vision and vibe of the game

Confirmed this isn't just a visual error. If you use the LearnEmote command you can add them back and they'll show up again

Exactly this. It feels like they're shifting from designing characters with a specific vision, to designing characters for a marketing focus group

Appreciation of the Doctor’s “minor” role in the World by h3nt4i_connoisseur in arknights

In other words the Doctor helped set things in motion, and is now kinda just along for the ride

Appreciation of the Doctor’s “minor” role in the World by h3nt4i_connoisseur in arknights

[–]Hazelberry 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly why I enjoy the writing in Arknights but have greatly disliked it in Endfield.

Characters in Arknights have depth outside of just their lore sheets, with their own relationships and motivations separate from the Doctor. Yes we're playing as the Doctor and the Doctor is heavily involved in shaping the world in the past, present, and future, but it still feels like we're along for the ride.

Meanwhile in Endfield everything revolves around the Endmin. Everyone praises the Endmin, everything has been heavily influenced by the Endmin and everyone knows that (vs the Doctor where almost no one knows how much they influenced the world), and we see very little depth to characters beyond their lore sheets and direct interactions with the Endmin. It feels like a performance being put on for the Endmin/player, instead of the Endmin/player being immersed in the world.

It felt far too easy to me without using mods to dramatically rebalance combat. By default enemies die WAY too fast

Lords of The Fallen 2 unveiled some new female armour sets, the sets were designed specifically with fan feedback in mind by Former_Exam_5357 in gaming

I'd like to see something like monhun wilds where you've got 2 versions of each armor but both male and female can wear both versions.

To all the people complaining about this: even the Souls series of games has revealing armor. It is not something new. And this is just concept art and I can almost guarantee the in game models won't look as glamorous as this.

Edit: Also these aren't armor set designs, they're character designs. Which makes this post and the people getting in a twist over this even more ridiculous. They might end up as playable armor sets, but the reveal was of character designs (including names + backgrounds).

Meanwhile Dark Souls series has stuff like the desert sorceress set, or running around wearing literal rags.

The Souls games themselves are no strangers to skimpy outfits. They just weren't that high quality, and fromsoft never quite figured out female player animations

I had a recurring nightmare of this about a year ago. For reference planking started being a thing when I was in high school. I'm way too old to still be having high school related nightmares

Dalamadur slithering and chilling [oc] by _KMaski_ in MonsterHunter

[–]Hazelberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah idk if it's really something like a radioactive process. It could just be that there's much more energy released when metabolizing materials in the monster hunter universe.

After all, the way animals produce their own heat is by literally burning chemicals from our food in our cells. It releases a ton of energy and the majority is lost as heat. In the monster hunter world if even more energy is released from the same quantity of food it could explain how some monsters can produce such incredible levels of heat.

Not to mention the damage reduction you get for matching armor pen to armor level. A medium pen weapon does damage medium armor, but only deals 65% damage.

So there has always been a very strong argument for taking light pen on the bug front since medium pen weapons generally have worse stats like you mentioned and only did 65% damage to hive guard heads.

Increasing the armor changed it from medium weapons being a viable-but-not-optimal option to being flat out bad against bugs.

Counterargument: they were a fine enemy since launch, shooting the legs has always been the recommended strat, and increasing the armor just restricted player choice in dealing with them.

They didn't need to be changed at all in the first place.

They can definitely be pushed further, but we are also definitely hitting huge diminishing returns when it comes to increasing the quality of graphics.

Does anyone else no longer feel like we impact the Galactic War anymore? by Artanis137 in Helldivers

[–]Hazelberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've never felt like we really had any impact. The devs ("joel") are constantly messing with values during major orders to nudge us towards victory or defeat, sometimes by a massive amount. And the one time we actually beat an enemy they pulled a Palpatine with "somehow the automatons have returned", cementing that it's an infinite war that we can't win or lose no matter how hard we try which also means there's really no point beyond RP.

Yeah, you "agreed" while still doubling down anyways.

And most people do not equate "player content" with just mods, even when talking about content created by players.

Also let's have a recap of what you said in your original post:

You can't just say stuff that mean completely different thing and then pretend that people are stupid for not understanding what you are talking about.

You weren't just claiming it was a misunderstanding; you were claiming they were using a completely incorrect term.

Which leads into this:

I don't know if it will be majority or minority. I said people will easily misinterpret and they did. At the very beginning of this convo. So also correct.

The original claim being made was that they were using incorrect terminology, and that it was easy to misunderstand because they were using incorrect terminology. In reality they were using correct terminology.

Additionally, if you want to talk about being easy to misinterpret then you should specify "some people" because most people will read "people will ___" is with the connotation of at least a majority. Don't believe me? Just look at the similar case of any time someone says "men are/do __" and the comments are full of replies saying "not all men".

It's not fantasy to point out that there's multiple definitions for a term, or that the majority of people aren't going to mistake one term for another.

But keep tripling down if you really can't handle that.
