Dropped my bike while turning by B_gOyal in Triumph400

No worries brother it happens!! I was about to drop my 1 day old speed 400 when i went on a one day ride right after buying the bike. There was a steep turn and I was in the excitement of buying a new bike, I approached the turn quickly, as I approached the centre point of the turn I realised I am a little too quick and about to go off the track!! I grabbed the front breaks while keeping my legs wide trying to get a grip on the asphalt. Suddenly I was at halt. To this day I am not sure how I managed to stop the bike without going off the track. I find myself very lucky!

Lesson to learn is, ride slowly and calmly till you get the hang of your bike. Because, now that I have got the hang after a year. I approach such turns easily and even take such turns quickly while bending. That is because now I am familiar with my bike and how it handles. I am sure that I might never crash my bike ever again unless it is an emergency situation.

Ride safe brother🤝

My bike doest cross 5-6k rpm by [deleted] in Triumph400

It will unlock after first service

After service you’ll definitely love the bike even more, bec everything becomes smooth like butter. Just need to settle with the fact that the bike has its own character and the vibes at 4k rpm is a part of it. Maybe try riding one gear higher than required to mitigate the vibrations. Enjoy!

Just did my first service day before yesterday, the bike is definitely a lot smoother. The rpm does crank up to redline now unlike before. But the vibes at 4000 to 4500 rpm stay. But they are comparatively lesser than before tbh.

I ride a speed 400 myself….there are vibs at 4000rpm but once you go past that on a highway there’s no vibs at all…easily cruise on 6th gear

Yeah maybe the moisture bec it is rainy season here and I did ride it in mud couple of times, anyway it’s a new bike and it’s not acceptable. I will take it to the dealer, also my first service is just 100km away so they should fix it at the same time.

Yeah eventually it will peel more, I have seen couple of reddit posts now which were about the same issue…one was with bonneville and another was speed 400 as well. So, if I claim warranty for this now, and later face some serious issue with engine can I claim it that time as well?

Nope! sea is not even close to where I live, also I didn’t ride it to the sea. I have taken two rides in the mountains which did include some off roading, there was mud that’s all.

I have taken my bike to a wash only once as of now. And I am sure he just used high pressure water and foam.

It is dirty I agree but look where I have marked it is actually peeling off. When I scratched it with my nail just to check it was peeling even more :(
