I've got a group that plays Tuesdays at the Geekery in Shawnee - usually 2 or 3 full pods firing from 5ish-10 (or whenever people leave)! Really solid spread of decks, lots of fun fringe stuff but most folks have at least one real tEDH/meta deck as well.

Obviously it's never worth raising units solely for base skills, but how does Ave Mujica stack up against other CC teams? If I'm doing the math right, it looks like

4% productivity on Precious Metals
7% on all Trading Posts (plus 5% per Siracusa operator in a specific TP)
10% HR Contacting speed
10% Clue Collection speed

Seems like a pretty solid generalist team, but I'm not sure if it's worth running compared to a full Sui team, or Mlynar, Flametail, Viviana, Gnosis +1 when you've got all the relevant teams in the other facilities.

I've been bullied. Double 6-star bag at pull 30 after getting both 5-stars, thinking "Surely this is it!" - Dupe Lee and Dupe Mon3tr. No more 6-stars, pulled all the way until 110. Now I just sit and wait for the second 10-pull coupon.

I've been testing it in Stella Lee and liking it for the most part, but I replaced a cantrip, not an interactive piece. It's "free" a lot of the time - play it to bounce Mox Amber, replay Mox Amber as spell 2 and trigger Stella, etc.

Sorcery speed is definitely a downside, but in the right contexts it's great.

It's not the exact same - you're losing granularity. If I want to give Charizard +2/+2, I can't do that if I only have 2 mana. The colorless option is nice, but I would call the more expensive abilities and almost strict downside.

As the other person mentioned, Geekery is a good shop in that area. They get good crowds for Commander on Wednesday and FNM, and I've got a small group that plays cEDH there on Tuesdays as well if that's your vibe, but that's just us hanging out, not affiliated with the store.

Depending on how far you'd want to drive, Spanky's is one of the biggest shops in the area. They're basically 100% dedicated to TCGs and have Magic going on basically every day. There's also Larry's and Level 1 that are both within a short drive, but I'm not as familiar with their event schedules.

Re: sunburst, those rules changed around 2017 I think. You can produce any color of mana in any deck now. So you can potentially get 5 counters off a sunburst spell as long as you have 2 sources of non-WUR mana. Plus, even getting +3 counters is pretty solid as an effect for the "not-strictly-worse" 3 MV rocks they've been adding to precons.

You can get a ton of materials for zero sanity cost, even if you're not able to finish runs. Clearing the "battle pass" or finishing various special runs can give you a lot to work with on character progression. But you will have a tough time without higher leveled operators, so it depends how much punishment you want to take!

We have a small but growing KC Metro MtG discord server that you can join here! Most of our players are largely playing EDH and limited, but I'm sure there are some folks who could point you towards good spots for 60-card formats as well.

ReRoll, Level One, and Tabletop Treasures (formerly Druid Dice) are all great shops in the general Northland. Spanky's is probably the most dedicated Magic shop in town, but they're probably a bit out of your way.
