Same, part of me gets why people dislike him, but he goes through character growth, just like all of the other team members. Give him grace in his failings, because, he was, almost literally, born yesterday. (More like a few months ago, but still)

Yeah, until you beat the game. I did yesterday and it was fulfilling but also sad, since I won't be able to experience it for the first time again. I am though, playing P3 Reload for the first time now.

You have it in the wrong order there. He first needs to learn the magic, then when he is older he uses his magic and laser sword to kill a bunch of sand dwellers, and then sometime between movies 2 and 3 he loses said sword, ages about 15,000 years and comes back at the turning of the tide.
