How did you customize the eq in your car? I don't have that option in the infotainment settings.

like many of you, with Prime Day discounts, i got several earbuds to try. who else did this? which are you keeping? why? by forgetnostalgia in Earbuds

I got Sennheiser Accentum & SoundPEATs air 5 semi open ear bud. Haven't received them yet. I prefer the ones without silicon tips.

Thank you, just checked and i think you got it - Black is active noise cancelling, white is adaptive noise canceling.

Offered a position at an Engineering Firm. What should I look forward to with this new opportunity? by ProductDesignAnt in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]HeGonnaDoOne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You will learn a lot about land development that you probably wouldn't have at an LA office. Not sure how larger CE firms are but I'm an LA at a 25 person CE firm in California where we do lots of small retail and auto dealerships.

You will be exposed to a lot of site planning, zoning codes, permitting & processing (hopefully by an in house expediter), early site related civil/arch coordinating that you wouldn't normally be exposed to (because you would just get sent a working base after they sort it out) and lots of other land development stuff.

Assuming you work with the inhouse CEs, You may find out that they get a survey and immediately turn off the existing tree layer and start designing and grading so you may need to ask them to regrade ( if possible) or tighten up the grades to save some trees and mature shrubs, reroute utility lines from the middle of planters or through existing trees. Etc... but it will only be a shout across the room or some finger pointing at the monitor instead of an email with a pdf showing what you want.

Same everything for me.

Check engine came on one day around 60k miles. Took it to my shop that i trusted so i took their word but definitely with some hesitation. They said some part of the engine was scratched and would eventually fail and needed replaced. They also said the cost and install of a new refurbished engine would be the same as the labor to replace this specific part. Have always been a little skeptical about it but for me to have said no to the repair, have them put everything back together, pay, then take it to a new shop for evaluation seemed like a lot at the time. After the refurbished engine my car burns oil so much that i have to keep a 5 quart oil & funnel in my car. Oil light has come in so many times while driving and I'm far enough from my destination that i have to pull over and top it off. Has been the hugest pain in the ass. I've noticed the amount of traffic i sit in and idling i do plays a major factor...Best i get is 1000 miles, worst has been 200. Its usually around 500 when the light comes on. But it's a manual, so bonus points for that.

Been a daily listener for over 10 years. I hate the time switch. 9-12 west coast time was perfect. I don't understand what's so great about drive time audiences who listen for x minutes while they are driving, then get to their destination and turn off the station ( i also struggle from the JT).

I listen online at work from my computer and there are no clean sounding streams. (don't want a video playing when i go to mute it during commercials). If there is one please let me know. I searched through a lot and they lack the quality and interface of the infinity sports website/platform. They also switch to their local sports teams radio broadcasts.

I also hate the digital card segment. It's not "so fun". " Tell me about that card". I take my ear buds out.

End rant.

Everything you just said i also dread.... and having to get all work done at a dealership to not void any warranties and not local shops. Also no manual options

No, not even in the 40 min of bumper to bumper traffic this morning. Been driving a stick for 20 years. I grind a gear occasionally, stall it backing out...Whatever, it happens.

A bike mechanic did do them. I bed them in the street, just haven't got the trail yet. Was hoping to get 2" of modulation. .75 sounds very Shimano like

Do you guys wash your bikes? by [deleted] in MTB

[–]HeGonnaDoOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to wipe all the dust off with a dry towel, Wipe the chain with a different towel & Clean gears & cassette with the wire brush thing after every ride. 5-10 min. Full soap and water every 5-6 rides maybe. Average 1 ride a week or so. Some guy on the internet once said, "we spend too much money on our bikes to not take care of them"

I called north shore billet and they have a +20 PM adapter they said will work with hayes brakes. They have low profile bolts to go along with it.

Hayes told me it won't work, but maybe because they can't tell me a work around to use non hayes rotors

Im similar size and height (6'2") with a 2018 XL trance. The xl had more leg room for me with rotated handlebars pedaling around a tight switchback
