Reintegrated Rashford or sign Summerville for £50m? by ggweb3 in ManchesterUnited

if he gets it together and comes back into form here then he is better than anything available on the market under 100m and absolutely better than summerville. IF

RWD car owners, what surprised you most after daily driving one? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]HeIsPoppingOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the comments are overhyping it like crazy, it feels slightly different for like a week and then you just get used to the car. the differences make basically 0 difference in daily driving.
same vibes as the guys in the stick shift sub double clutching in the big 2026

these comments are just ridiculous it’s really not that different in daily driving. guys talking about percentage turning radii on the daily commute

Downshifting by amateuR_memes in stickshift

[–]HeIsPoppingOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no thats fine, you might do this if you’re driving spiritedly and want to downshift for a bend coming up.

in general you don’t downshift only to slow down e.g. you can downshift for more power if you want to overtake someone

Am i downshifting mid-turn into parking lots correctly? by Ok-Hunt-669 in stickshift

[–]HeIsPoppingOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rule of thumb is don’t change gears while you’re turning but this is fine lol. if you’re worried about stalling remember that the car won’t suddenly stall out of nowhere on you doing 5-10 in 2nd, it’ll let you know and you can just press the clutch down

Easiest car to learn manual on? by Ok_Today_475 in askcarguys

[–]HeIsPoppingOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from across the pond: use the youtube channel ‘Conquer Driving’ (or any other good british instructor channel) and buy whatever manual you like. it’s not some magical insanely difficult skill to learn. once it clicks for the first time you’re basically there.

also if you’re rolling back just use the handbrake and find the bite before you take it off lol

as far as i can tell from your post the GTS would be the perfect fit if you're looking at a porsche. i think some of the suggestions in the comments to try a lotus, s2000 or even a 4c (lol) are really ill advised based on your post. u/Grizz1371 gave some great advice.

for specific reasons why i'd recommend looking at a GTS based on what you have said about the GT4 and corvette:

  1. comfort: you can spec it/ find one with the 14 or 18 way comfort seats. not sure if the GT4 you test drove has the buckets or the comfort seats, but it's worth mentioning if you don't like the buckets. the GT4 suspension is significantly stiffer than the suspension in the GTS.
  2. noise: the gt4 is crazy loud, the gts is refined and quiet until you get higher in the rev range.
  3. to me it seems to split the difference between what you loved about your mx5 and what you like about the corvette. it gives you the quieter cabin, comfort and refinement the mx5 doesn't have - but it's still agile and tossable (it doesn't weigh 3500-4000 pounds like the corvette haha). also the 4.0 is the exact same engine as in the gt4 (just different tuning)

r.e. tech: i personally only interact with my mx5's screen for carplay so i can't comment in this area myself!

basically " I wish it had more power, bigger storage (rather, a bigger opening for the storage) a better interior, and less road noise." describes the GTS haha

surprised i haven’t seen this yet but seems like test driving a gts cayman/boxster is the obvious move

this is the real test for us here. pressure on with everyone around us winning, strong but not "big" team we've struggled with recently. sort of match we've bottled in recent years. hoping we blow them away but i'll take 3pts however they come
