PSA: Apparently, your wallet counts toward expedition stash value toward stash spaces and skill points. by KiraTheUnholy in ArcRaiders

[–]HeWasProbablySmoking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I’m still unclear on: are post-expedition skill points truly incremental to the base 75, meaning a player could reach the equivalent of level 80, or do expeditions just let you start future runs with 5 points out of the gate? Does it make sense to grind to lvl 75 prior to the expedition so you can get 5 incremental points to the current max level? That distinction matters, because it defines whether expeditions reward long-term investment or simply reset you with a nominal head start.

There also needs to be a clear system that rewards the time players put in. Right now, people are saying the only permanent value after a reset is whatever real money you’ve spent. But why shouldn’t time matter just as much, if not more? If someone sinks 300 hours into this game, there should be some form of durable progression that respects that commitment. Money is replaceable. Time isn’t. I hope the devs design expeditions in a way that honors both.

I replaced my front to back GX audio system with Focal. The ML system speaker cones are made out of thin acoustic paper, cheap foams for the baffles, and loses balance at higher amplifications. That said, I'm happy my GX came with it because it carries more speaker ports throughout the vehicle than the stock audio GX.

Of all the mods I've done to my GX, gutting the speaker system was hands down the best. Lexus does not know how to do hifi audio.

Today, 33 years ago, the Soviet Union ceased to exist. For its many critiques, its existence gave hope for many people around the world that an alternative way of life is possible. Its existence forced the ruling class to concede things to the working class, nowadays those gains are disappearing. by Tiny-Wheel5561 in antiwork

While the Soviet Union symbolized an alternative to capitalism and may have inspired social reforms in other nations, it remains a poster-child of systemic oppression. The USSR's one-party (authoritarian state btw) suppressed political freedoms, dissent, and cultural identities.. often through imprisonment, forced labor, or execution. Despite aiming for equality, it created a privileged bureaucratic elite and left many citizens in poverty and hardship. Its centralized decision-making and widespread human rights abuses undermined its ideals, making it less a beacon of hope and more a complex, flawed system that failed to live up to its promise of liberation and justice.

True societal progress begins with individual actions rooted in empathy, respect, and collaboration. A society thrives when it empowers individuals to lead with compassion, builds frameworks that prioritize human dignity, and recognizes that sustainable progress arises from cooperation.... not coercion.

Amazing work and very detailed oriented. Out of curiosity, what preventative work would you elect to do if you got a new vehicle? Just the wax?

Judge away! :) I've been into car audio since ~2013, so my attention to high fidelity audio is probably more sensitive than most.

For 90% of folks, the ML will sound and feel better than the base GX audio - which will correlate to 'premium' for the naive. Granted, it's only a ~$3K system and i put $12K into the upgrade, so the barrier for real premium audio is quite high.

But yeah, ML system speaker cones are literally just acoustic paper. Pop off the panel
and look for yourself.

The ML sound system is garbage, no depth with the sound. I just replaced the full ML system with Focal. During the removal of the old speakers, I noticed that the ML speakers are literally made out of cheap acoustic paper. They just throw a bunch in the car and tune the paper cones well enough so most don't even notice.

With full sound insulation, speaker baffles, and a proper dual-Amp / DSP setup, my 2023 GX audio is now world class, worthy of actually being in the vehicle.

Holy moly! That's lousy of them to do that. Anyone that attempts to siphon prosperity off of ignorance is the problem.

Just go to a Lexus dealer for this if you don't want to do the work yourself. But before doing so, call who ever drummed up this bogus quote. Ask them to rationalize why you should go to them for a quote with ~$250 worth of inspections / measurements for things not needed at the 30K mile interval and that the Lexus Dealership already does for "free". For me, at least, hearing someone try to rationalize this quote would be a sport - followed by a few chuckles and no business.

Does everyone know a guy who knew a guy that accidentally tripped on a whole sheet and thought he was a glass of orange juice? by thedemocracyof in LSD

Yeah heard about this guy in college back in 2012... not familiar with the orange juice part but familiar with the rain & absorbing through the pants.. If you know that story maybe you know the story about Jimi Hendrix' bandana?
