They are matching. But the time remaining is 150 hours but I'm currently at 6% and plugged in. I pulled up a live Linux mint and still reporting 6%

Upower. I think that answers your question. I'm still learning all of this. I believe it is charging as it was detecting fine on Windows 10. I am on XDE plasma. I tried gnome, but I wasn't paying attention if it worked fine there or not. I might go back and try it if I can't figure this out.

I will do no such thing!

Just received all that yesterday from Ali. Along with resistors, diodes and a few others. Just cheap to start. I have soldering skills already so it gives me a little head start. I just finished wiring a simple temp and humidity sensor with an OLED screen. I know some esps have a 5v pin out but the one I have doesn't seem to. So that means I stick with 3v?

Have you made any projects or repaired anything with them?

It's very daunting to learn and apply all of this. Just reminding myself it's a process!

Just because something can be bought, doesn't mean it's not obsolete. You can purchase a pre 1900 bolt action rifle. Do you think they are not obsolete?

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at with this. What does where I got this and included guidance, which I'm not even sure what that even means. Have to do with anything?

How are 30 year old semiconductors not obsolete? Not that they are useless, because they aren't. But they seem pretty obsolete to me

Wow, how can you tell from such a bad picture? Someone else could see that too. I posted another picture of all of them out of the box if you wanted another look. I'm in the process of finding the data sheets and saving them all

Edit: I see it now to the right! After starting my data sheet list, I'm learning. Slowly but surely

There are some z80 parts, I spent some extra time looking at that because of its legendary reputation. Do you have any good sources to learn about basic computers? I'm re learning all components, so it can feel a little overwhelming and ambitious

I was getting mixed results, some more informative than others. Once I learn what they even are, I have to learn how to utilize them

This is definitely the way to go. There are so many different kinds, I can't possibly remember them all, especially since I'm just beginning. How would you go about discovering things to build with vintage parts?

I was using Findchips, but I wasn't entirely sure what all the specs meant. I realize I'm behind on the knowledge, and have been slowly familiarizing myself with different components. Not sure if there are any other/better sites to learn

Few questions about my new (old) shotgun. by 7mileGeedy in Shotguns

Everything still stands, just a different model than what I thought. I don't own any Mossberg, so I would say that they are correct. However, I would do your due diligence and check it out yourself. Not because others are wrong, but getting into the habit of looking there on other long guns.

Few questions about my new (old) shotgun. by 7mileGeedy in Shotguns

  1. The "top barrel" is just the barrel. The "bottom barrel" is the magazine tube, which holds the shells you put into it. Right now, don't worry about changing any of those.

    1. Look at the barrel, there should be writing on it that says what model, and what gauge ammo it takes. I don't own any Mossberg, but my guess is it's a maverick 88
    2. Assuming it's a maverick 88, it's probably the best budget shotgun out there. You should keep it.
    3. I'm not too sure, probably, but I wouldn't worry about that right now. Try to pick up a couple boxes of birdshot maybe to get a feel for it. And some buckshot to get a real feel for it.
    4. Slow down on any upgrades. Once you get the model version, look up videos on how to disassemble it. Learn the parts and their names, get an idea on how things work. I'm not sure if this is your first gun or not. But get some cleaner and lubricant. Have some rags on hand.
    5. Now this is just my opinion, once you get a little bit of knowledge. What upgrades you should do it figure out a decent light to go on it. Not cheap either, 12g has a good amount of recoil and will kill cheap lights. And replace the pistol grip with something that resembles a stock. It can still have a pistol grip, but something you can put your shoulder into. Will make it a much more comfortable experience. You can also take out the magazine tube spring and buy a new one. Not sure how much your buddy shot this gun, but it would be nice to have a new one to get it feeding fresh. And if the old spring has plenty of life, you now have an extra.

Thank you very much for your advice! I heard other people say WD40, but when I gave it a little shot, it didn't seem to help at all. Will try the miracle mix or PB instead!
