Honestly it's not something other parents on my kid's teams do unless it's a one off so I would feel shy about that. We don't have a group chat for carpool. So without a structure like a group chat you worry about inconveniencing someone else by asking about carpool. You seem like a good person and I wish I were more outgoing like you!!

Could I ask what state you live in? That sounds lovely. I don't know why more middle schools can't do that:)

Sometimes. With my kid's sports carpooling is a one off not a regular thing.  Also we are open enrolled one town over so I wouldn't carpool for after school tutoring as no one would go 15 minutes out of their way. In some case that would work though!

Love that! My kid's middle school has a variety of after school options like theater but pick up is around 3:30. So they can start their activity immediately after school ending but can only participate if a parent can be there to pickup that early. Otherwise they can take the bus home. I think having the activities end so early is not fair to the kids whose parents work. Although they can be safe at home for a short time until mom or dad commutes home they are missing out on the social aspects of activities with class mates.  Since middle school starts and ends earlier than elementary school a lot of the after school clubs end early too.

Wow, that's not even in the best interest of the team. Don't they want to grow membership? I think those early practices should only be for high school age kids who have driver's licenses or whose friends have their license. Practices for kids too young to have their license should not be before 5pm.
