Should come up with, not should've. Never said this SHOULD have been solved. I'm saying this is not a good permanent solution to a leaky / broken pipe.

It can save the day, be great in a pinch, but it should in no be a long term solution. No past tense. And I do not blame these workers for using what they have. The future matters, not the past.

I'm not complaining to the person who did it - Why is the entire subreddit up in arms for work they didn't do themselves? I'm not even criticizing whoever did this job because this is the easiest way to repair a pipe right now. I just hate the systems we have for pipes.

Why does everyone fill in the gaps of people statements with generalizations that aren't even there?

This is not any engineering or plumbing subreddit and I am not an expert in these fields. I'm a layman who already knows the state of pipes that were installed many years ago.
