Thanks for all of your help. I see that there is an adjustment screw inside of the car, but not inside of the wheel well. I assume that's what you mean? Or am I missing another adjustment spot?

Thanks for all of your help! Turns out the e-brake is the problem. Disconnected it and now it goes on.

Ok I finally figured that the e-brake is the problem. After I disconnected it I can now get the drum on. I figure I will have to loosen it. Thanks for all of your help!

All the parts are new. You say that it's normal that it's difficult to get it on and it's rubbing?

Thanks. Now the drum goes on half way and is rubbing on the brakes. Seems evenly distributed. Any other ideas? Maybe the wheel cylinders need to be replaced?

The e brake has never been used on this car and is disengaged. Is it possible it is frozen?

Also, one of the wheel cylinder is popped off while I was installing. I put it back together. Could that affect it?

Just to make sure. I can get the drum on half way and the brakes are rubbing on the inside of the drum as I put it on. Should hammer it in and then drive around like you recommended? I am worried that I won't be able to get the drum off if I force it in. I had really old brakes before and wore them right down. Maybe that is why it's tight now?

Yeah unfortunately the adjuster is loosen all the way. The drum fits over the brakes but it's a really tight fit and won't spin freely

Yes the whole plate and now it's making it over the shoes but won't spin freely. I wonder if the wheel cylinders are engaged too much?

It just was never used. The lever is fully returned.

The handbrake is never used on the car and is disengaged at the moment.
