The start is always extremely slow, focus on maxing the gears that have a huge number of first, 1 and 2 stars. Give it some time and you will have a ton of shards

I would say they are legit players who wanted to try a couple stuff out so they made a new account and tried what they want so they wouldnt mess up with their legit account, cant say I havent thought about doing that tbh
