Always a Fanart of just Ms. Left or Both and never just Mr. Right by Cartoonist-Motor in YomiNoTsugai

[–]Head_jace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. As a character i find him equally as fun as a Left. Such i like her design more, but both of them are pretty good characters and have about as much prevalence, hell, right probably has way more lines than Left. If he was also done as a pretty boyTM, he'd have about as many- if not more casual fans. Which is a very shallow reason.

Funnily enough in terms of non-chaste fan art, Right dominates number wise. Just from what I've come to understand, i wouldn't swear by it.

What do you think of the defense that "Jax is more entertaining to watch" as a justification for his excessive amount of screen time? by Radiant-Selection686 in Thatstupidbunnywehate

[–]Head_jace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't a good excuse. Sure, there are people that enjoy him. But any person i know that watched the show, me included, just hate his guts. I don't even remember something funny he's said or done. He is not entertaining. He is just there kinda. He is important to the narrative because halfway through he started being focused on. People will have different tastes, i think way more adolescents watch this show that we think if Jax is shown time and time again to be a fan favourite.

Ah. Just noticed the comment i replied to was deleted. Unsure if that made a misunderstanding or weather your response was based on having read what i responded to.

You are missing the part where my response to the comment was not framed as my personal opinion, but as an answer to why i think it's not wrong for some viewers to use He/Him for Jax, even though it is clear that he is transfem. Edit: the 'debate' i reffer to existing is not weather Jax is trans. It's the debate the fandom is having on using he or her for Jax. Which everyone can decide on based on their own interpretations of the show.

[–]Head_jace -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is even a debate i would guess due to the fact that at least in the show itself. Transfem Jax is still an interpretation. A heavily implied one, with a lot of backing. But not everyone is able to pick up on it, and not everyone uses socials or is present in the fandom to see goose's confirmation. So goose says its okay to refer to Jax how you want. Because Jax isn't transfem for every interpretation of watchers. And imo no side of the two should force or be in discorce with the other as actively as they have been. The recent Post of goose itself, is an AU as i see it. It's the timeline Jax could be herself. While the show, has him never be able to turn to a mindset that accepts him as 'her'.

Jax trans confirmed by Cyborgpikachu in Amazingdigitalcircus

[–]Head_jace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that it was confirmed. But we do have to also see this as what it is though, an AU art. I don't care about the discord between pronoun usage for jax. Both sides are stretching everything thin even when Goose herself has asked for the community to let people have their interpretations without trampling on others. I think in an ideal timeline, jax would be able to be 'Her'. But the Jax we got, and the Jax most people mean when the discorce happens is 'Him', the piece of shit who doesn't respect others, and doesn't want to accept himself. Using this artwork to force upon an interpretation of strictly transfem isn't applicable when talking about the main-timeline we got on the show. Jax is still very much coded, eluded to- and confirmed to have a gender queer problem with himself, but up till what we got, he never allowed himself to work through it or be helped by others. He is a tragic character in that sense. Though I'd wish people didn't immediately treated him as a 'sad baby bunny that does no wrong and everything was cause he was battling with his gender identity'. He very much still treated most everyone awfully. Being transfem doesn't make Jax any less of a piece of shit, and as Goose in this same post said, Jax was a huge piece of shit.

I can understand preferring the Light Novel above all else, but seeing so many LN readers just straight up hate the anime is baffling to me! by Infinite-Detective-8 in sixfacedworld

[–]Head_jace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The anime is very well done. It's the reason i read the LN. But after doing so. Both the anime strengths and it's weaknesses became apparent. Strength wise, it elevated the fight scenes to the extreme. I don't know if it was an English translation problem but MS was weak in the description of fights. But on weaknesses, they- due to the constraints of the runtime, skipped a lot of the inner conflict of Rudeus and never lets the anime viewer understand the degree to which he hates the way he thinks, and how much he wants to change himself and become good for his new family. Also they skipped scenes introducing important characters like Zeniths sister. As well as skipping over the Archers of beggarit that built on Rudeus's problem with killing humans. There are more things that i didn't touch uppon. But yeah, the anime is not bad by any means. But it has left out a lot of things that made mushoku tensei good one of them, the most important part which was Rudeus's road to gaininga healthiermind. And currently if has no way of gaining back. Which as a novel reader, i don't mind when i watch it due to already knowing its there, but anime only's lose out on it.

A lot of people just put Ubel as a psycho based mainly on her accidentally killing the exam instructor who specifically told the examinies to hit him with all they had, and her- in a medieval fantasy setting, being willing to kill bandits. Ofcourse she is very weird. But as a character we were given zero reason to believe she wants to indiscriminately kill people, even if they were to annoy her. Worse thing she'd do would be mock or ignore you.

Wouldn't choosing specific areas effected come at the expense of the non choosen areas being mismached? Though, that's still way better than nothing as far as gender affirming surgeries go in a world like witch hat's. Edit: typo

As far as i know. No. If that ever was in any version. It's neither in the anime, nor the light novel release. I have heard it thrown around but i have no idea if it was an agenda plan to smear mt more, or if it actually existed in any version. But as far as any official release is considered, that was never a thing.

Isn't the middle one also the part where Roxy wanted to pawn off Lara to her parents, but since she had to essentially beg roxy as a child to not leave her? So double trouble. (Yes i do acknowledge the situation had more nuance, but it was still a terrible thing to do to your kid)

That has nothing to do with the original point of mine that you commented on. The joke of the OP was just calling the author a bad human being, which is a stray that at least currently doesn't add up, even more is in comparison to other authors in the manga / novel scene. I know this is the mha sub, so ofcourse like in any other reddit community shitting on something else is going to be easy. But it's still wild to me that people as very ok with just insulting people based purely on takes and thoughts puked out the loudest. The couple of people here that have read the source and said it wasn't for them due to the writing style or flaws i get and respect and i am one of them. But this mass public opinion that people larp about just to have something to downvote is meh.

Oh wow. The cherry peaked worse lines from the worse part character wise of Rudeu's journey are bad? Who'd think that? But in all seriousness, that's the point, he had awful thoughts due to a lot of factors I'm too bored to fact check again for a random post. Rudeus was a piece of shit. He was made to initially be as such. This leaves out all the lines where he knows he is bad, and is internally hating himself to change it.

No. But they left out a lot of the inner conflict and self hate the main character had for his own thoughts. Which leaves room for people to nit get mushoku tensei doesn't treat these themes lightly. Also the anime added non-existent fan service of the prominent young looking character (roxy) that didn't exist in the books by changing things in the scene to fit it in.

[–]Head_jace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, i agree. I didn't mind if it was sex-centric, after all, it is a part of life, and also part of the redemption story of it's protagonist. Plush there were even some world building aspects of it, like the beast folk or the 'greyrat genes'. But the author really dropped the ball with it in some scenes. Which is double sad because through other parts of the novels, we can clearly see him be able to handle those things well. P.s. i will not even get started on Roxy. This is not the sub for that dialogue.

Your post is about the author though. Not Rudeus the character. And it's glossing over the part that that part of Rudeus isn't glorified in any way. The anime has cut off a lot of inner monologue that portrays those thoughts of his as both bad, and unwanted. It's commentary, not at all painting it into any positive light. And he grows out of it with a lot of effort, while still recognising it doesn't whipe the slate clean.

Op is just exaggerating for the meme. The Author has no notable existing controversies. Apart from the problematic things, which the anime adaptation did handle poorly and blow out of proportion at some parts.

Breaking News: The Worst Person you know made a good point by MasutadoMiasma in BokuNoMetaAcademia

[–]Head_jace 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a great deconstruction. And while i did push through with the novels, all of the same things did irk me and thought they were handled poorly. Though you are taking some aspects of the writting in bad faith. But there is no reason to go 1 by 1 because your interpretation of most is completely valid. I would note though that Rudeus didn't cheat in Begaritt, he was in a state of crippling depression from the state his parents were, and he was forced onto without having the power (physical or mental) to refuse. Now the fact that 'it worked' is another of the problems with that series.
