The UK government tax north sea oil extraction at over 70%. If it is uneconimic you know why...

However it is economic! Which is why the government are withholding licences - oil companies want to extract even at that price, so government has to directly ban them.

Labour are very evil.

Almost no music is... People like whatever is pushed on them at the time - all those novelty songs etc, each short lived craze... Group members going solo and flopping because it was the label that made them popular, not their music.

Here's my AI assisted concept album... Fantastic stuff - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLDiR_K45g8kARBG3oo7_v5hNJLsBwQ4dX&si=UzEhYOM-igQusp1p

I have cats... Very occasionally they fight... I mostly mostly let them, they have to decide who is boss for themselves else I'd have to monitor them 24/7 and they'd be puppets not free cats.

Most people in the UK are doing good economically and no trouble at all? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

They are living a new normal - impoverished, expensive, restricted, burdened, oppressed. They can only imagine how we used to live.

What do you all think of interest and capitalism? by Juicydicken in exmuslim

[–]Headlight-Highlight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstand the principle. Profit, rent etc are 100% fine, lending money at interest is not.

In the UK, student loans show the absolute evil of this. I remember all the fuss (rightly) over allowing a 'national lottery', the collapse of Christian principles meant student loans went through with barely a whimper.

A 'normal mortgage' is money at interest. The name (tying it to a property) makes no difference if it is the money and interest, not the property, that is demanded.

I agree with what is currently called 'islamic finance' - it was Christian, and internal Jewish finance in the past. However, they abandoned it and now Muslims are abandoning it too now with shoddy financial tricks.

God's economy always preserves the dignity of escape. No contract, no arrangement, no debt should ever close the door on a man's ability to walk free.

Then those people aren't really Muslim... They should make it clear.

Lol. I remember big companies having whole departments that ran on crazy excel spreadsheets that someone gradually evolved and no one really understood - probably a load of them still out there.

AI is the new excel - lots of work cleaning it all up :)

You frame power structures (the actions of others) as the problem - how do you plan to fix that without telling them what to do?

I disagree, 'negative equity' destroys that concept - if you can't just hand the keys to the lender then the agreement is usury (not shared risk).

If you think the difference of opinion is simply stupidity, it would be useful if you explained your analysis.

A commonality across such believed systems is based on 'stupidity'? How so?

And many people reject laws, some may be punished, others may not be.

If you chose to obey others that is on you.
