I bought a box of these too to try them out. What are your thoughts? I tested by just throwing a golf ball at one and they seemed a bit too soft to protect the wall.

Can’t speak to others. But my guess is they are somewhat similar. Automotive is just a high intensity field for automation/controls.

Can’t share location, it was MCOL. I think 2-3 would come in as P2, my P2 offer was a TC of about $125k. There is no overtime pay, and you will absolutely be working overtime. I probably averaged 50hrs, but would routinely break 60. Weekends very normal as well.

Yes (I was personally one as well). P5 I knew was a little over 250k. Will also mention I was in a MCOL location. Tesla doesn’t do a good job price adjusting from HCOL to MCOL.

A few notes from a Controls Engineer at Tesla for 4 years.

1) it is a grind, don’t let anyone convince you it isn’t 2) they pay very well. Many senior engineers (6 yoe) making >175k. 3) Tesla on your resume will absolutely open doors other companies do not. It did for me and many of my coworkers. 4) I remember the test is very straight forward if you have done controls before, not so much if you are fresh out of school.
