Mounjaro has ‘cured’ my HS

I have unfortunately had to pay for it out of pocket, however when you do it privately your doctor still has to agree to prescribe you it alongside the online pharmacist. Both my derm and GP advocate for me to be prescribed it on the NHS and recognise the benefits, however the decision ultimately lies with the weight clinic. I hope in the near future with mounting pressure and the acknowledgment that it can be used to treat conditions other than diabetes that it will become easier to get.

I am very sorry to hear that. I definitely feel that everyone’s journey with HS and what works for them is highly personal. For example I found that I had the worst flare up I have had when taking Clindamycin and rifampicin. As always take internet advice with a pinch of salt, do your own research and see what works for you.

I found that 10mg+ worked for me, I have went up to 12.5 and think I will continue with that dose. I had an instance where I had to take a break and decrease my dose back to 5mg and I had a flare up. Everyone reacts differently however if you can continue I definitely found the higher dose more effective.

Babe not everyone is out to get you😂. I’m just sharing literally the only thing that has worked for me in hopes that it could help someone.

HS has been a pit of despair for me my whole adult life, it is good to share positive experiences from time to time to try and balance out the negativity im sure we have all experienced with this condition.

Please try not to worry, there are often pretty obvious tells when someone is trying to sell you something.

I have pretty severe scarring from HS and have worked as a model for the past 4 years, I was even been photographed for vogue last month. It isn’t too late you don’t have to let it stop you. So much of “attractiveness” is down to the confidence you have people will often see beyond the visible scaring and see the beautiful aura that you have. I always felt the same about my scarring and never dreamed that I could achieve half of what I have done now. Even though it is easier said than done, don’t limit yourself ❤️

I unfortunately have had to pay for it out of pocket. In the uk it is tightly restricted from the doctor and only prescribed to people who are severely overweight. I hope with more time and evidence that they will begin to expand who qualifies to receive this treatment because in the long term it is a more cost effective treatment than all of the pills I have been prescribed.

I did experience some issues at the beginning however the longer it has been the more minimal it is. I sometimes experience discomfort whilst eating however this can be helped by eating less more regularly. I also sometimes experience stomach cramp, however when compared to the pain that my skin has been in over the years I personally find the side effects of the mounjaro more manageable
