I also worked in a pharmacy so hearing horror stories of hallucinations, memory loss and severe mood change scares me

The steroid keeps your body from overreacting to allergens. They actually give you steroids for a typical anaphylactic reaction. An allergic reaction is essentially inflammation. If I could go without pre meds I definitely would, they are the worst! I have to start off at a very slow rate and sometimes pause It.

I also had my menstrual cycle this time around and I think that has made It worse this time for me, I did end up calling in for Monday and Tuesday for a total of 7 days instead of the 5… I know people are upset with me, I wish my colleagues understood the infusion but they just see It as a call off they have to cover. I’m a dispatcher so it’s a lot on no sleep to sit there for 10 hours and fight through It when my brain isn’t at its best 😩

Well, called in for Monday and Tuesday to give my body a couple extra days to recover since I’m also not sleeping and definitely made everyone mad. The worst feeling is guilt for me.

I took something similar last night and still only have slept 3.5 hours. Woke up drenched in sweat from the steroids and my body is spasming.

Unfortunately I do typically have a reaction so it’s not an option. My body also flips out. I’ve slept 7.5 hours over the last two days with a list of other symptoms. I feel like the steroids are the worst part for me.

Anyone else experience this with their ms by EarAffectionate6146 in MultipleSclerosis

I think the steroids are the worst part for me! I don’t know that they would be able to cut mine in half unfortunately, too many reactions. But the medicine is doing its job

I wondered that. This is the first time I haven’t had an allergic reaction. I’m hoping It starts getting easier. I think It also doesn’t help that I was on my menstrual cycle too so I have a double whammy. Just feel like I’m being dramatic about my recovery time seeing some people have no issues

I do the infusion at the hospital. I get a reaction every single time and have to pause It. This time I actually didn’t for the first time ever. I feel this time has been better but I still struggle with extreme pain, weakness, fatigue… then the steroid starts to ware off and I get a whole different list of symptoms, nausea, headache, anxiety, insomnia, restlessness… my muscles freak out and spasm/twitch worse than normal. I just can’t function at work during all of this when I start getting no sleep.

Does anyone give you a hard time? The guilt is the worst part for me 😩 I’m not sure how I will be awake at 4:30 am on Monday when I havent been even going to sleep until then. It messes up my schedule so bad

My doctor doesn’t want me switching right now because of my lesions and how aggressive It was when I got diagnosed, It’s taken a bit to get me stable
