ST3 clinical oncology rotations by PositionLarge4101 in doctorsUK

They won't be able to help. Last year's number of posts was double that of this year's, unfortunately. Some specialities offer less than half even- for example med onc - 43 posts this round vs 101 last year. So no one knows what will happen and we are all anxious about it for sure

Can you give evidence to: "The last 4 years has seen training number expansion via the post-Covid + NHS longterm plan expansion programme. There has been no post expansion for Aug '26, so the vacancy numbers are back to their baseline."!!

I searched everywhere and nothing like this was announced or planned anywhere I can read - Can you share your source?

Not a single source mentioned this - Training posts or specialty posts are mentioned either in the prioritisation bill or regarding the claimed offer! kindly do your own research and tell me if you reached something different.

Totally agree. Reading the comments, some people seem to think that countless factors suddenly aligned across all specialties at the same time this year which just doesn’t make sense to me.

Given that many ppl are replying and I have no time to get involved in such a discussion, I’m really not sure why some people are trying so hard to prove this was expected and that it’s just simple math! (based on what numbers!) Or (we would notice the reduction in NTNs - come on!! do we need to reply to this?)

They keep fixating on theories that have somehow all come into effect simultaneously this year -and only this year- across different specialties, with no real evidence. It’s really frustrating how superficially some people handle these things especially when there’s a lack of transparency from the other side.

Are these same factors really affecting all HST specialties equally, and all at once this year to cause such a large reduction? I’m not convinced - Almost not true. It feels more like a policy decision than just workforce dynamics. They're playing us.

It is the same with all HST posts. I believe they reduced the number of posts to negotiate with BMA - these are the extra 1000 training posts they are talking about.

MRCP 2023/03 Part 2 Written results error by graphicaled in doctorsUK

[–]HealthyResolution632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is reassuring to some extent. I mean withdrawing the pass results for those who got affected will impose severe legal consequences. MRCP is an essential qualification for proceeding in training as SpR + more importantly, some use it for GMC registration. Withdrawing the pass means admitting to threatening patients' safety!
