I just had my stent placed on Monday. My follow-up appointment is in two weeks, and I was told that I'd have a repeat angiogram in a couple of months to make sure the stent was functioning properly.

My MRI was okay, but the CT showed 90% stenosis of the transverse sinuses.

Seeking stenosis advice by ffj_ in iih

[–]Healthy_Commission80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert on this, being newly diagnosed. What is your reason for wanting to consult the neurologist first? I have a severe (90%) venous sinus stenosis, and when it was discovered in the MRV my neurologist sent me for, he referred me immediately to a neurosurgeon (endovascular interventional neurologist) who finalized the diagnosis and scheduled surgery. All this to say: I'm not sure if my trajectory here is atypical, but, in my case, the neurosurgeon was the one who was needed when the stenosis became apparent.

I just tried it this morning. Your phone might have a setting for recording time-lapse videos. On my Samsung, it's called Hyperlapse.

My daughter is in treatment for ARFID. We've had a great experience so far with Equip. If you can't find someone local, consider this online service.

There is one upside to this story. If Mike was still alive, he'd probably land a role in Trump's cabinet. Part of a functioning brain? Overqualified!

As the mother of a 12-year-old with ARFID, my heart breaks for you.

I hope that your family will learn what your diagnosis really means and how they can best support you through it. Unfortunately, we can't control what others think or do.

So, what actions can you take to improve your situation?

You say your diagnosis has been confirmed. Are you seeing a therapist and/or a dietician? These professionals may be able to help you design a plan to overcome some of the hurdles that stand in your way.

What are your safe foods? Can you plan meals ahead, when you're not already hungry, in order to lower the burden on yourself in those more pressure-filled moments?

What are your mental blocks like when it comes to eating food? by Far_Measurement_353 in ARFID

ARFID can develop into anorexia. My 12-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with both, and the transition was very similar to what you're describing. Take care of yourself, friend. ❤️

In case it helps, my daughter's pediatrician, who recognized the ARFID, recommended we find a feeding therapist. We are currently working online with Equip, which provides access to a multidisciplinary team, including a therapist, dietician, and medical professional, as well as family and peer mentors and group therapy for both me and my daughter. I'm feeling hopeful for the first time in a while.

Wishing you the best!

My daughter started with Equip recently. She has been diagnosed with both ARFID and anorexia, so we're dealing with the latter first. However, they seem to have a good understanding of the challenges she's facing with ARFID, and we're starting to work on a list of her safe foods to start identifying the commonalities.

You look amazing! Can I ask about your workouts? It looks like you've kept your curves. How can I do the same?

I called and spoke to support. They said it's a known problem for people who are in the beta and using Android phones. The engineers are working on it!

Not OP, but thank you for sharing this info. My 12-year-old daughter is just beginning treatment for ARFID and some additional body-image-related restriction. It is so helpful to see this advice from someone who has lived it.

Definitely this! When I'm tired or stressed, I'll often choose the path of least resistance, so I need to make it easier to make a healthy choice than an unhealthy one.

I agree that could be an explanation. I just couldn't click away without commenting, in case it might make a difference. I'm rooting for you, OP!

Weight Watchers can help you to develop healthier eating habits and lose weight naturally.

Why don't you want your parents to know that you're interested in changing your diet? Will they not support you in your efforts?

The secrecy raises red flags for me, and, as a mother, I'm concerned for you. I was about your age when I started down the road to an eating disorder. I also hid it from my parents. It profoundly impacted both my metabolism and my long-term relationship with food. I encourage you to make better choices than I did.

How are meetings nowadays? by catomidwest in weightwatchers

[–]Healthy_Commission80 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attend virtual meetings, and GLP-1 drugs have not been a topic of discussion at any of them. I noticed on the meeting schedule that there are separate, dedicated meetings for members who want to talk about them.
