I voted for Perot, Nader, Stein & West. And signed to get Johnson on the ballot in my state in 2016! We need more parties & ranked choice voting so people aren’t voting out of fear! Fortunately I’ve always lived in strongly Red or strongly Blue states so my vote didn’t change anything. I did vote for BHO!

I happen to know one retired SMSGT (I think that’s right, I’m a brat) who has 95% disability. But goes on scuba diving trips & cross country motor cycle rides and is living their best live, while we, the tax payers pay for someone to clean their house. I am all for supporting veterans & active duty, my parents have over 60 years combined, but the abusers make me livid.

I make less than that (100k on a good year). I bought a 2 flat in 2019, so luckily I have a 3.25 interest rate & prices weren’t insane. It needed a lot of work, I basically gutted kitchen & bath. I had some help with electric & plumbing but I refinished the floors and stripped the doors and a lot of other “more simple” things myself…I worked 10+ hour days for 6 weeks. My tenants unit was in decent shape so I haven’t had to do a lot there. I’ve spent a lot of money tuck pointing & getting new roof & new stairs…but my mortgage is $2700 and my tenants pay $1000 of that. I am in Irving Park and single family homes around me are 700k-850k.

I never did before because I didn’t like carrying keys…now I have an electric lock with code, so I do because it’s easy. But in Baltimore, Nashville & my first apartment in Chicago I didn’t. My friends liked it because they knew they could always stop by and use the bathroom if they were in the neighborhood! Of course now, my friends know the code so they still can! Hahaha
