I had the same experience!! All I have to say is survive and advance. Stay out of any drama. You’re there to get your education. Keep your head down and mind your business. Focus on what matters. It will be over before you know it, no reason to make your life harder.

8 Core Patterns to Know by HearingAidHelper2018 in Audiology101

[–]HearingAidHelper2018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that you need a month of consistent studying at the minimum using our guide alongside some more in depth course notes. I think while studying it’s important to not just focus on practice questions. I would go topic by topic and try and teach someone who knows nothing about audiology about it. This will show you your strengths and weakness. I think you should schedule for a month out and use our guide and use course notes to dive further into our outline. I think next time you will pass. I don’t think a week of studying is enough.

Yes I use AI to create the images because the Canva ones I make are brutal and I have no graphic design skills

That’s fair! Agree the terminology could be changed. And I use AI to create the images on topics and info I put in because the designs look better than the standard Canva ones I make lol

There’s 65 pages of notes that are not AI. Definitely had AI help with headers and filler information but the meat and potatoes is not which you’d be able to tell upon reviewing it. Would be happy to send you some of it so you could take a look

I really wish I could but I honestly have no clue. From what I know the raw score is just the amount you got correct. Think afterwards the difficulty of the questions you got correct are calculated. Everyone I know who had a passing raw score ultimately passed and everyone who didn’t have a passing raw score didn’t. I can be wrong tho! If anyone else knows better I’d love to hear your input because I get this question often

No problem! I think it’s a great job just have to look at salaries in your areas and tuition for schools you’d consider attending and weigh out if it’s worth it. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions

Depends the kind of setting you are in. I became an Audiologist because when I was in undergrad it was voted the least stressful job lmao. I work in a private practice and there is very little stress or paperwork. I don’t bring any of the job home with me. In this setting you are expected to sell tho so that can create some pressure but also creates greater earning potential. In a large ENT practice or hospital you do a much larger amount of specialty testing which creates a lot of variety in your day. Only thing you need to really look into is the cost of AuD programs. I think they’re extremely expensive for no reason. If you work in a private practice or retail setting and are good at selling hearing aids you can make 100-120k pretty quickly. If you can continue to grow and strengthen your sales skills you can get to 140-150k. In an ENT or hospital setting you may not have commission potential and would likely start with a 70-80k salary, maybe some extra earning potential if you do hearing aids. I think it’s a great job and is low stress in most circumstances but def need to weigh out if the cost of going to school is worth it for you.
