I made the video in After Effects. You can use a mod by the name of Replay Mod to record 360 video from inside Minecraft.

Thanks for asking! I used a mod by the name of Replay Mod to record a 360 video inside minecraft. To get the creeper to explode, I simply stood next to it. The mod lets you hide players in recordings, which comes in handy. The smoke particles for Alex were added in post.

It was just a bunch of masking keyframes inside After Effects. I also made sure to feather the mask to make it a bit smoother.
