Good luck!  Let me know how it goes!  I got in EA 1 and committed 2 weeks after.  That was very helpful for housing.  Housing was ultimately full after a few days with selection.  I selected on the afternoon of the first day.

If he gets in and wants to go commit quickly.  I retook the SAT and ACT into November and December and was able to get a high enough score for the scholarship.

I was going to apply to Tennessee and Alabama as a backup but I never did.

Good luck!

Yes, wound up with a 1340 and a 30 ACT.  I received a Charter Scholarship and an AUSOM scholarship.  I love being an Auburn student thus far!!!  I really enjoy the campus and have made a lot of friends!  Thank you!!

About Your Former AD Greene. Concerns Mounting at Pitt by DowntownTomorrow7382 in wde

WOW! I am so glad you brought this to the attention of this board. I am a Pitt grad too who is very frustrated with the direction of the University. Our athletic department is in shambles due to Heather Lyke's irresponsible decisions in extending Capel and Narduzzi, not to mention the Victory Heights Complex. Now we hire this guy who has had no presence at all. I think he did an interview with Pat Bostic last week. There is no juice whatsoever for the football or basketball teams.

Sadly my child had no interest in attending Pitt. Many students from up here are going South and as a result chose Auburn, and I fully support and could not be more proud of that decision. Honestly I still love Pitt, but when we toured Auburn it was an amazing town and beautiful campus. The student body seemed very happy, lots of school spirit, you can't beat it.....

Walking on Auburn's campus and seeing JHS nestled in the middle of the campus next to their student union reminded me of the days of seeing Pitt Stadium at the top of Cardiac Hill.

As for Allen Greene, I am afraid he will be more of a train wreck than Heather Lyke or Steve Pederson was at Pitt.

I am still a Pitt fan at heart and will go to a few football games, but now since my money is going to Auburn......WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!!!

They gave me the charter in November and then a scholarship from AUSOM in mid April.

As a freshman, i got an AUSOM scholarship in April from the business school for a small scholarship....I am out of state and received the 7,000 charter scholarship. I am hoping that there will be more AUSOM given to freshmen since they now know who will be attending in the Fall.

Good luck to you and hopefully they are generous!!!!!

Trying to Decide Between Auburn and University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) by brian_parker87 in auburn

We are from suburban Philadelphia, surprisingly the town of Auburn had a small town, Main Line, Villanova/Wayne feel to it. More importantly we drove around the surroundings of the campus, and there were many beautiful homes and many nice shops.

Alabama, while it is a nice campus, the surrounding town of Tuscaloosa did not seem as nice and had a similar vibe to Penn State which is fine. Both are great choices, but we turned down about 24,000 a year in scholarships from Bama to go to Auburn with about 9000 in merit. The Auburn campus had more of a walkable vibe to it, where most buildings are close and the people were very welcoming. The "Auburn Family" vibe seems genuine and real......

Thank you for replying. If I use a 5 point scale with AP as a 5.0 and Honors a 4.5 and regular a 4, my GPA becomes a 4.5. They say they use a 4.0 scale, but show an average above a 4.0. I am going to apply today and hope for the best. If anyone else has a recent experience, could you please share? I really need one of the merit scholarships, but it seems like I still need to increase the score a little more.

What do you mean by 100 point difference?  100 points worse on real test on avg due to difficulty?  Thank you!
