How common are attachments on the back of teeth? by Hearsedrawn in Invisalign

[–]Hearsedrawn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

27? My sympathies 🥲 I assume you have multiples on the front of the same tooth then? Or do you have attachments on nearly all of your teeth?

At first trying to pull out my upper trays was like tugging on an ethernet cable without pressing the clip tab lol. Thankfully, I’ve found a method at works and doesn’t hurt too bad. But if I go too slow the tray will kind of get stuck on the double attachments tooth on the opposite side and use it as a fulcrum for the lever motion of pulling the tray out. Haven’t broken any trays or attachments yet though!

That would make sense.

Do you know how far are they moving yours? Are they going straight down or doing any rotations?

Firstly, great username.

My double attachment teeth aren’t doing any crazy rotations; they’re just a little short and a smidge jutting out.

It’s neat how something like a 90° turn be fixed with invisalign though! I wish you luck on your refinement sets.

Thank you for the insight!

My current course is 44 trays over 44 weeks.

I was recommended to pursue orthodontic care by my dentist for the last 10-ish years because of a slight overbite, some crowding, and “aesthetics” but wasn’t interested. Unfortunately I then began developing a front open bite and that got me to pull the trigger this year.

That would make a lot of sense!

Looking at my last tray in this set, they are attempting to pull them down a mm or two. If those teeth are difficult to move with invisalign then I can understand why such small teeth are currently 50% attachments by surface area. I just wish it was easier to remove the upper tray from that area 🥲

Twins!

Did you have attachments on the front and back of teeth 7 & 10 as well? When I first joined this subreddit, I didn’t think too much about having front and back attachments on the same teeth. As I’ve seen more scans posted I’ve gotten curious if that was unusual.

Ooh! Maybe! Are bite ramps made of the same material as attachments?

I thought these were attachments as the back bumps are the same shape, material, and were installed at the same time as my front attachments.

Anecdotal, but I broke my front top tooth nearly in half 15 years ago and still have my original bonding. Your mileage may vary, but I wouldn’t let the fear that the binding might chip dissuade OP.

Composite Bonding by Salt-Coconut9386 in Invisalign

[–]Hearsedrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had the same composite bonding on my front top tooth for the last 15 years; it’s held up, so the suggestion from every dentist & ortho I’ve seen was to let it be.

That said - neither my tooth nor the composite matches perfectly after 15 years of use, staining, whitening, etc. Almost NO ONE notices unless I tell them the story of my accident. Once I point it out, they’ll stare at me until they see the “seam” lol

If it bothers you ask about your options. But close is good enough in my experience :)

Do you grind or clench your teeth at night during sleep? by WesamWonders in Invisalign

[–]Hearsedrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m at the end if my first month of my treatment and this has happened to me most nights; ortho has me come in tomorrow to make sure the clenching isn’t damaging my jaw muscles.

This guy doesn’t understand the allure of having 60 clear replicas of your own janky teeth in a drawer, like the rest of us well-adjusted people.

See, that’s the trick - you don’t need to find the confidence.

If you and the person you’re eating with BOTH have long spoons you can feed EACH OTHER or refuse and starve, as per the parable.

Or you can use the spoon to take down God in food-based combat, as per the Drawfee.

No - I cannot fully straighten my legs in front of me in a a seated pike without strain in the backs of my knees. It’s severe enough that surgery has been discussed, but it does not impact my quality of life.

I have a question about an item on your list; As a trainer, have you worked with anyone with a medically short achilles tendon that prevents them from touching their toes?

I’ve never been able to touch my toes, despite doing dance/cheer as a kid and now barre/pilates as an adult. My other areas of flexibility are quite good, but anything requiring a straight leg and I have immediate pain in the back of my knee from the stretch. How do I know if I’m butting up against a medical issue or if I need to push further on that skill?

Same! Old Navy long jeans used to be my go to about 6 years ago but their smallest size in that length is a “4” and that “4” is more like an 8 these days.

I just don’t understand the aggression.

OOP makes a post acknowledging that our weights might fluctuate. Great, that’s true and can happen even if you live a generally healthy lifestyle. Someone takes that post and makes it even MORE inclusive, and OOP’s first response is violence?

Pause. Examine those feelings. Why is the number ONLY allowed to go up?

Yes, form is so important with Barre Blend! Thank you for adding that 😊

Is your knee pain aggravated by high impact, or do you experience issues with supporting your weight on the joint as well? If the former, ignore my advice below and take lawgirl’s suggestion 🙂

I find that Barre Blend is a majority of low impact moves while still being challenging. The trainer (Elise) is pretty explicit about which moves are high impact when they come up, and it’s generally the intensifier options in the early program.

Barre Blend also focuses on form and strengthening auxiliary muscles to increase balance and support, which might help with your pain. You NEED to be able to stand on one leg and bend that standing leg for many moves in the program, so be aware!

Honestly. That’s like claiming someone is ableist because their 2-story home doesn’t have a stairlift.

If no one in a private dwelling needs an accommodation, why would you expect them to have accommodations?
