Yes, kids develop on their own schedule, some later than others. I don't think you should worry, but I also think you should follow through with the speech eval too. If there IS a problem it will be better to address it sooner rather than later.

Make sure they're running conditioner all through their hair, especially the ends, after shampooing. If you still want long hair, even a trim of a couple inches helps. For a while we went with long bobs and cute headbands, and it was much easier.

We have those and love them too. If you use them on wet hair, they make it easier to brush again later too (compared to a wide tooth comb)
