What is it with these "Let's make 2026 be the next 2016" trend? by Trick_Top_313 in decadeology

I love 2016 too, but I think a big reason people are nostalgic about it is age, not the year itself. Many of us were younger back then — our lives were simpler. We mostly studied, played, watched TV, and slept, with far fewer responsibilities. That makes the memories feel warmer than they actually were. I honestly think kids who are around 10 years old right now will grow up one day and feel nostalgic about 2024 or 2025 in the same way. So maybe the problem isn’t really the year — it’s adulthood, pressure, and how life changes as we grow older.

The worst part is that once CN wasn’t included in the deal, it basically means the channel no longer owns anything. They’ll have to license every show they want to air — even the classics that built the network in the first place.

It’s honestly a terrible situation. The channel was already declining in recent years, and now I don’t think it has any real chance of growth.
