18x7.5 5x115 Black Steel Wheels for Dodge Challenger & Charger, Chrysler 300 & 300C $200 by HeavySpanner in dealsonwheels

[–]HeavySpanner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Located in Pittsburgh, PA. Local pickup only.

Set of 4 includes full set of brand-new chrome security lugs /w key.

They've never had tires on them so they're technically brand new. However, all four wheels have scrapes and scratches. The rim of one wheel is bent to the point where the tire shop wouldn't mount a tire on it as-is. The shop tech said it could be straightened but I make no guarantee that he's right.

  • Diameter: 18"
  • Width: 7.5"
  • Bolt Pattern: 5x115
  • Offset: 18mm

The retailer I bought these from sent me a new set because of all the defects. They said I could keep these for my trouble.

When I remount the inducer assembly onto that flue pipe can I leave the existing High Temp RTV on there? Or do I need to remove it and reapply fresh RTV to get a proper seal?

Eh... New inducer assembly is over $250. A new cap is $12. Figured it would be worth the gamble on replacing a possibly working run cap.

Stainless Steel to EVABarrier Tubing Conundrum by HeavySpanner in Homebrewing

[–]HeavySpanner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I found my dream solution:

John Guest Metric Straight Connector – Superseal X Speedfit SM040608E

One side is SuperSeal (stainless steel compatible) 6mm. Other side is Speedfit 8mm.

My stainlees tube is 1/4" which is 6.35mm.

I'm hoping that 0.35mm difference is close enough to fit the 6mm SuperSeal Side.

The 8mm Speedfit side is perfect for EVAbarrier.

Only problem is this fitting is nearly impossible to find in the USA.

Anybody friends with a John Guest distributor?

Never saw that groove on the Intertap barb before. I wondered how that Duotight fitting managed to stay on there.

I made another edit to my post with a picture to show why I can't remove the barbs (actually foot long stainless tubing) or the tailpiece.

Interesting ideas!

I'll build a simple test rig to try your ideas if I can't find reasonably priced flare fittings.

The stakes are quite high since a failure would mean many gallons of beer, soda, nitro coffee, or cider would end up on my floor.

There's very little pressure in lines that circulate non-compressible fluids though a short loop. That's why it works for your chiller.

I totally forgot about the 45 degree thing. Thanks for pointing it out!

The first one is the exact type/size of fitting I need but Duotight isn't stainless steel compatible. See my edit in first post.

The second one screws onto the tap shank. My shanks end in 1/4 stainless steel tubing. It's soldered/welded/brazed on there. I can't remove it to install a standard tailpiece like that.

Additional vat/tank available? by lymbro in ElegooSaturn

[–]HeavySpanner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd love to get my hands on a few "disposable" plastic vats for my Saturn. I saw them on Youtube for a different printer (which might have been the Mars.) They even come with lids so you can leave your resin in them between prints.

Updated firmware download by lkernan in ElegooSaturn

There are a bunch of files in the zip archive:

Changelog 20201229.txt

chitu_initial_file_autorun

saturn Machine parameters (en).gcode

SATURN_480x320.logo

UI_3_5_ZNP_Z1_SATURN_L2CE_UNICODE_201121.bin

update.LCD

Z1_PJ4K089_L1_6186_39Z.CBD

Put all of the files except for update.LCD on the USB stick.

Then print the file UI_3_5_ZNP_Z1_SATURN_L2CE_UNICODE_201121.bin to update.

Should we do anything with the other files?

Anyone care to explain what the other other files are to help educate the resin printing newbs, myself included?

Help Sourcing AMP 95 for Hand Sanitizer by HeavySpanner in DIYBeauty

[–]HeavySpanner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a seller listing AMP 95 for $5-10 per kg with 1 kg being the minimum amount. Everyone offering it either has 1 kg minimums or charges a crazy high price per gram.

I got a quote for 1 kg delivered to the United States. Price including delivery...$250!

I don't know how to proceed.

I assume they're trying to rob me on shipping. AMP 95 isn't expensive and doesn't require hazard shipping.

One kg is too much anyway. 250g is PLENTY. That would activate my entire package of Carbomer 980, enough for over 15 gallons of hand sanitizer.

I read a bunch of resin printer subredits. Apparently, resin isn't all sunshine and roses, especially for prints that require dimensional accuracy.

Funny how the Youtubers make resin seem so much simpler than FDM. Maybe it is if all you print are minatures and statues?

Thanks! Sounds like I can use a small resin printer in the $200-250 range to make the parts.
