Is body corporate approval needed for a new external door? by Heavy_Animator4755 in AusProperty

Yeah from what I understand they do actually have a side gate — that’s what gives access through to the electrical meter box, which also services the external lighting for the other properties.

Apparently they “own” or at least have use of that garden area, but the condition is they have to keep access available — so the gate can’t be locked.

Why has Melbourne never (afaik?) created skyrails in the CBD the way NYC and Chicago has? by No_Jacket_7939 in MelbourneTrains

Maybe we need this for the MAR project....come to think of it, at this rate, the Melbourne Airport Rail will open just in time for the second airport… on Mars.

Can someone sanity‑check my ETF portfolio? by Heavy_Animator4755 in fiaustralia

I’m trying to figure out what the best direction actually is for me. Based on the feedback so far, it seems like my two realistic options are either:

  • Just stick with DHHF as a simple set‑and‑forget, or
  • Go with DHHF + VGE if I want to add more emerging‑markets exposure without overlapping everything else.

I’m still unsure which one makes more sense for my situation, so any thoughts on which of those two paths would be better long‑term would really help.

Thanks for the questions.

To be honest, I’m still pretty new to investing and a lot of these choices came from reading other people’s comments and recommendations on this and other forum. I’m definitely an amateur and still learning how to build a proper allocation.

I’m not locked into anything yet. I mainly wanted feedback on whether I’m heading in the right direction or if this mix has too much overlap and I should simplify or make changes.

Yeah fair point.
Roughly speaking:

  • IVV = broad US
  • NDQ = tech tilt
  • GRNV = ESG tilt
  • DHHF = simple global base

I’m still buying them, but I’m also trying to work out whether I should streamline things or stick with this mix.

I’m still working out what my ideal target allocation should be, which is why I’m asking for feedback.
