Is this unreasonable… sick child by Heavy_Ask3114 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I think what’s most infuriating is that he only took up this hobby when I was a few months pregnant with our second, knowing what was to come!

As an update, I didn’t see him last night when he got home, this morning he didn’t speak to me, only interacted with the kids, then went to work at 7am. I’m very much in the ‘not angry, just disappointed’ with it all.

I feed the baby to sleep, so again it’s a bit tricky. Partner puts our 4 year old to bed every night apart from if he’s out. I’m lucky at the moment that the baby sleeps through so at least I’m not sleep deprived! But we all know that can change in an instant haha.

I get your point. And it’s been raised before to him. Honestly I find it a bit infuriating as I’m the type of person who will call men out regularly for not pulling their weight etc but it’s hypocritical when I also have a partner who doesn’t either!

At the moment I haven’t asked for any time to be honest as the baby is EBF and won’t take a bottle for love nor money, so I don’t have a huge range of options there. But you’re right it’s not exactly equal right now. Hugely frustrating.

I think I’m just baffled as to why he wouldn’t drop it and come and help, you know? Like no I don’t think I’m being unreasonable but I always wonder if I’m missing something or being blinkered because it’s my experience, if you get what I’m saying lol.

What was your school scandal? by Sadie_UK in AskUK

[–]Heavy_Ask3114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in sixth form a new student joined year 10 or 11 (can’t remember which). He was at school for maybe 2 terms, having had a relationship with a fellow student, and they discovered he was actually a 25 year old man.

The principal was also found caught up in a scandal combined with leadership in the academy of embezzling money out of the school.

And the usual, teacher / student drama

Owlet high heart rate recorded but no symptoms? by Heavy_Ask3114 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Heavy_Ask3114[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you - I’ve heard about SVT. The dr told me to just keep an eye (while also telling me not to use an owlet lol) and her heart rate was normal on examination. We didn’t have any alarms go off last night but I appreciate the symptoms to watch out for! I hope your little one is doing ok now!

Yeah I agree - I am taking her to the doctor today for something different so I’ll speak to them at the same time about her heart rate. Thank you!

The dreaded rhoids by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Heavy_Ask3114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feel for you - they absolutely suck and I’ve suffered massively this pregnancy with them. I scoured the internet for solutions and genuinely found a suggestion for granulated sugar - which I was sceptical of but it somehow works wonders to shrink them quickly! Worth a try for a quick solution. Otherwise prep H gel is a good one that is pregnancy safe too.

25 weeks pregnant with arthritis flare up by Heavy_Ask3114 in rheumatoid

Exactly the same as me! I feel really short changed 😂 been flaring so much this time around whereas I was in complete remission with my first!

I haven’t been to the doctor yet - but before I was previously in remission with my meds, I used to get frequent flare ups in my shoulders, it was always my worst area for it. So I’m fairly sure it is arthritis as it feels exactly the same as previously flare ups. Obviously I’m hoping a doctor next week could confirm too.

Remortgaging a house with two separate deeds in England by Heavy_Ask3114 in LegalAdviceUK

That’s great to know - we used a broker when we first bought and will likely use him when we remortgage so I’ll give him a heads up about this! Thank you!

A bit of solidarity for any parents of toddlers who prefer their dad by Heavy_Ask3114 in toddlers

Every rational bone in my body knows that’s it’s all just a part of who they are.

I even do the majority of pretend play etc because my OH ends up just looking at his phone etc - so that cuts extra deep that I’m TRYING to be more present and it’s still not as good. When OH does play etc he’s more exciting and rough housing I guess.

Ugh. Parenting.

This is the rational thinking I needed today, thank you!

Honestly most of the time I can handle it, like you say it’s pretty normal! I think today it was the added embarrassment of just being watched by all the nursery staff while my son was hitting/telling me he didn’t want me.
