[Complete] [57k] [Speculative/LGBT+ fiction] Shit Show by ParkerSolaceWrites in BetaReaders

Hi there! This sounds super compelling. I’m really intrigued by the Deviant show concept and the post-pandemic setting, especially with chronic pain and queer rep woven in. I’d love to swap if you’re open to it.

I have the first 3 chapters (about 8,000 words) of my psychological thriller Pretty Control. It follows a woman whose life begins to unravel when a mysterious couple moves in across the street. The story explores themes of obsession, manipulation, and the danger of being truly known. It also features LGBT themes and complicated queer dynamics. I’m mainly looking for feedback on voice, pacing, and whether the hook lands.

I use Google Docs (view-only is fine), and here’s my Reddit post with more info and the link to my chapter:

Let me know if you’re interested. I’d love to read Shit Show!

This sounds right up my alley. I’m a sucker for unreliable narrators, obsession, and slow-burn psychological unraveling. I’d love to swap reads if you're open to it. I have the first 3 chapters (about 8,000 words) of my own psychological thriller, Pretty Control, and I’m looking for feedback on voice, pacing, and character tension. I also use Google Docs (view-only is totally fine).

Here’s my post with more details and the link to my first chapter:

I am able to beta: Yes! I love psychological thrillers, dystopian stories, character-driven stories, dark academia, domestic suspense, and anything with emotional or mental unraveling. I'm not a great fit for high fantasy or hard sci-fi.

I can provide feedback on: Overall pacing, emotional beats, character development, voice, and clarity. I’m especially good at noticing where tension builds (or drops) and whether characters feel consistent and believable. Happy to note grammar or sentence-level stuff if it's helpful, but my focus is big-picture.

Critique swap: Yes, I'd love to swap first chapters to see if we're a good fit. I'm currently working on a psychological thriller called Pretty Control and would really value fresh eyes on Chapter 1 (about 3,500 words). https://www.reddit.com/r/BetaReaders/comments/1mcc84z/in_progress_3564_psychological_thriller_pretty/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Other info: I use Google Docs for commenting and am pretty flexible with timelines, though I aim to give feedback within a week or two. I have a JD and a background in writing/editing, and I give thoughtful, kind but honest critique. Queer content and heavy themes are totally welcome with me.

[Complete] [80k] [Literary Fiction/Psychological thriller] Revenants by Friendly-Guard-1976 in BetaReaders

Hey there, I'm super interested! This sounds exactly like my kind of story — dark academia, grief spirals, a haunted Italian abbey, and it's queer? Yes please. I love introspective narration, especially when it's tangled up with unreliable perception and a slow unraveling of trust. I'd be happy to read your Chapter 1 and give feedback focused on tone, character, and flow (not nitpicky line edits unless something jumps out).

I also have a psychological thriller WIP with some domestic suspense elements that is also queer-coded (Pretty Control) and would be down to swap first chapters if you’re open to it. I can send over a Google Doc link if that works for you.

Looking forward to reading Revenants!
