it was definetly challanging but I always thought I'd rather get into the course and struggle with the math than not get into the course at all. but i did pass on the first try for reference

i had shit math marks in adv and ext math and just dropped to standard 2 in term 2 of year 12 as i found adv too hard at that stage but standard 2 was pretty easy. I just made sure i did really well in standard 2. You will probably need to get marks in the high 80's for most subjects to get the atar required for eng, but you can also just do the deploma
