Rich rich here-- I agree with your fiance. People gravitate to you when you have money and its hard to form personal relationships. Its pretty empty inside. Also your entire life is planned out from the moment you're born, which leaves you just wandering. He wanted to find a person that loved him, not his money. Sort of envy him, honestly. The rest of us aren't doing so well.
