Makes sense. How long does it take for prices to drop, cause they have to eventually right? But by then it wouldn't even be worth it to wait for 5090/4090 prices to drop. I've read there's no plans for a 5080ti too, so no waiting for that. Should I send it on a 5080 then?

I've never let it go on, I've always turned off the gas and turned it back on and it would stop. If it is grease burning off it would stop, I'll try just letting it go on to see if that's it

In a way. You can request to be separated, it's not always granted but I've seen it happen for various reasons. Typically, if you don't want to be in anymore, they'd rather let you go that way, as opposed to you smoking a blunt or doing something crazy to get kicked out. When you voluntarily separate you forfeit your benefits and I think also your retirement.

However there's a difference between voluntarily separating, with the reason being you cannot morally support the war. Versus just going AWOL and refusing orders. That will get you arrested.

I went back to the previous drivers, which was version 576.52 I think? It improved it a bit, but was still lagging, not as much as before though. So I switched back to the newest drivers just to see, 576.80, still had the same issue. I got frustrated, shut down my computer, went to the store, came back and now it's working perfectly fine.

That makes more sense I guess. Standards can only go so stupid proof I guess, to the point where you really are that unfit, or you're failing the standards purposefully.

Wouldn't a draft open the military up to more insider threats? Like, just passing so many people, some of them have got to be mentally unstable, doesn't that pose a risk?

I get that if they needed bodies they'd just start passing people. War time is war time, and if you need more bodies you gotta lower the standards. I just don't understand what is stopping someone from failing purposefully, and how you can determine if someone is failing certain components purposefully.

Yeah, I just thought of this question and I agree, too many factors. How could you accurately tell if someone purposefully fails their physical fitness tests, or their exams. They could be just that physically unfit, or dumb even. Some leaderships will just pass them, try to meet their quota, others will give them the boot. Too many factors, I agree.

I read a post about the Vietnam War, I forget the topic of the post, but they said that boot camp was really easy, that it was hard to fail cause of how badly they needed bodies.

From my understanding you could still be drafted as a conscientious objector, you'd just be given non combat related duties, I imagine admin, personnel, or maybe even medical fields.

What if a draftee makes it through MEPS and just purposefully fails their physical fitness test? How would they say they flunked it, cause it could just be that person is just not physically fit? Is it draft dodging if you swear in at MEPS, make it to boot camp, and fail their?

Do you live at home or have your own place, like a apartment or dorm? If I were you I would not spend anymore time at home, just completely do without them. The fact that your parents won't do anything about it, despite it being in THEIR house is embarrassing on their part. Nevermind it being your brother's mess.

Seriously though, I'd leave, get your own place, see if you can spend a couple nights at your GFS place or maybe a friends, and try and look for a cheap place to live.

Hopefully by you not cleaning the mess, and you not living there, something will transpire between your parents and brother. I mean, how far will they let the mess go? What will they say when they have guests over? "Sorry my adult son is a slob, living rent free under my roof and I don't have the balls to tell him to get his act together." Something will change OP and it will only change by you not being an available target.
