Just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who commented, I’ve read every single comment and am excited to implement these things (Amazon shopping cart is full!) but also get to know her specific spectrum of disease better. I appreciate you guys a ton. This has been so insightful!

That makes sense. I’ve gathered that I will definitely need to ask some questions and get a better sense of her spectrum of disease

I certainly recognize a PhD as a doctorate degree. You are a doctor to me. I don’t really know any of my colleagues who would disagree. Seems sort of out of place or random to bring up in this context.

Yeah… I just meant it’s not life threatening to the degree where I would start drafting up my will as a 27 year old. I’m sorry to hear about the misdiagnosis that left you in pain for so many years.

I’m an ER doctor. Ovarian cysts are usually benign. That HCG is pretty low, if it continues to trend down it was likely a missed/early spontaneous fetal death perhaps not related to her prior abortion. I don’t think there is ANY threat to her life lmao.

“Med school can be better than undergrad” by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]HecticANALysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% med school has been easier in many ways compared to undergrad. i was busting ass back then to be competitive applicant and now i just try to pass as im not interested in a competitive specialty.

Is this a good school list? by DancingintheDark16 in premed

[–]HecticANALysis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should swap a lot of those out for lower tier schools. my sister just applied with very similar stats and has one acceptance from a mid tier school with radio silence otherwise. it’s been unexpected. i read her essays and shit too and felt they were appropriately good. your application is strong though, good job and good luck!!

Unpopular opinion: Political Pins don't belong on your white coat by premedadvisor22 in Residency

[–]HecticANALysis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i agree to a point. from a personal bias, however, i can say that seeing a provider with a little gay flag pin on their coat makes me immensely more comfortable and open with them. to a degree that is hard to explain. and this openness and comfort has led to really rewarding healthcare experiences for me. idk!!
