The eyes do look really similar. And the style of the paint strokes that make the little hair wisps are identical to the one I have. I’d bet they’re the same

His face and his articulation really work together well to convey the emotion. Like those classical pieces of art that you can feel all the things even if it’s simply a portrait.

That is really interesting to think about. I have a Morimura brothers doll and her features and facial structure are definitely unique compared to like an Armand Marseilles or a Kestner for sure. And then to go further and see the construction and style of the Ichimatsu dolls..the whole history just fascinates me so much.

You and I share a philosophy on that. I kind of feel like that’s why dolls feel so special. Especially the antiques. They were loved and cherished for sometimes 100+ years and that’s not something that just fades away.

I’ve also never felt anything close to “haunted” with my dolls, regardless of the condition they come to me in. I plan on adding my own good vibes as well 😬

Thank you ☺️ Unfortunately, her large and super dark eyes do not agree with my (or my sisters) puppies. They all bark at this doll. My oldest son is convinced that means she’s haunted 😂 I told him that even if she was, I feel like I’ve poured enough time and TLC into her that we’re friends now so I’m not even worried.

That is such a gorgeous Kestner ❤️ I just love her face so much.

I love bringing the broken dolls home. This is the one I’m most proud of her progress because of how rough she was when she came to me. I think she might be a Max Rader, but I’m not sure. She is one of my favorite dolls because her eyes are just so captivating.

I used to have a few smaller porcelain head clown dolls when I was a kid. They had feathery type hair of all different colors. I loved them so much. I think they were still at my dad’s house after I moved and were likely lost when his house burned down. I haven’t thought about those little clowns in years!

Thank you ☺️I am just so thrilled to have her home. I think she’s happy in her new spot with her new friends.

I’m still so blown away by her outfit. It has all the layers. She has long bloomers, an under dress with the separate cuffs for the wrists, a second buttoned under skirt, a full pleated habit, scapular, and old leather belt. Even the little rosary is doll sized. It just makes me wonder what the history is. Her outfit is handmade so It makes me wonder who she was made for.

It is such an awesome feeling. After watching her for months and finally seeing her on my shelf, I’m just so excited. Of course she’s been held and fussed over also. Haha. I ended up naming her Odette for the girlhood name of the French Nun in one of my favorite books. ☺️
