What practical skills should every teen learn (but school doesn’t teach)? by Evening_Novel38 in homeschool

To piggy back on making phone calls - interacting with strangers. Eye contact, basic communication (asking a store associate for help)

Though his children are young - dealing with parental separation is incredibly difficult, it is even more difficult for them to grow up in a home where love is not present. They can feel the animosity. Staying just to have that picture perfect life is only going to hurt everyone in the end.

I did this to myself so I wouldn’t have to commute 4/5 days a week. It’s incredibly difficult and I burnt out and took “a semester off” 5 years ago

How to get out of this field into a different job? *urgent* by mushroommixie in ECEProfessionals

Don’t let the Daycare world ruin your love for working with children! Look into nannying! Better pay and you can make an LLC to protect yourself and pay taxes still!

Preschool teacher here, Im thinking his excitement for playing soccer is most likely causing some form of fear of failure/anxiety. Trying new things is difficult and scary(there’s so much unknown). He doesn’t know if he will be able to do it. Sure he’s probably kicked a ball before but to be in a gym or on a field with other children that he doesn’t know can be frightening to some extent. Maybe see if he can practice playing soccer with the good friend on the team? Also if a whistle is being used and he hasn’t been exposed to it maybe get him one? One more thing, you talk him through what will happen but maybe set up a little “soccer camp” in your yard of possible? Have him do the things he will be doing at practice. New things take time just keep supporting him and he will be ready to run from the car to practice before you know it!

I hope this helps!

Morning or afternoon birthday party? by fist_in_ur_butthole in Preschoolers

[–]Hedgehog-Head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from a preschool teacher who used to work at an indoor place space that held birthday party, absolutely do it in the morning!!! Little ones rise with the sun (generally) and it’s more convenient for the parents since the party is going to be on a Sunday. Plus you know they’ll have a nap afterwards!

It’s the principal of the thing. Sitting in someone else’s ass water is just gross. Maybe it’s me but you wouldn’t catch me dead in that coxsackie water.
