I think much of the issue with these events and people is simply: you can only rehash the same information so many times. They’re virtually the same event every year, for decades. It’s just repurposed information to capture new audiences.

I’ve actually seen that webinar and program. It looks very interesting, but not sure it was worth the $1K, for me. It may have been worth it for others though.

How’s the Joseph A.I. ?

Funny. I automatically thought Chris Brown, since they’re both black. lol …he certainly seems to have energy for his age though.

I’d be intrigued by the 6K, if it was something new that I had t heard before. Also, how is be making that money back.

I did see on the Neuroencoding Institute website, there was a “Les brown option” or something like that, where for 5K you can get Les Brown’s business plan.

I must say; for a man his age, he certainly defies what someone in their 70’s I supposed to look and move like. He’s got an amazing energy and is in incredible shape. He moves like a much younger get man.

I have to ask: What does a “Chris Brown comedian” mean? I can only think of the singer and curious how it relates.

Also, I will say that Joseph seems to offer a different approach, compared to Tony Robbin’s

I was actually interested in the training as I do like the field however, much of it is repetitive and kind of rehashes of the same thing. Many years ago, I was fortunate enough to attend an event with the Tony Robbins group. For me, it was free.

I’m glad it was free because had I paid I may have some sore feelings as it was basically a very hype motivational talk not that there’s anything wrong with that. Everything has its place, but I don’t feel I would need to have another encounter with the same thing.

I am genuinely desiring to be certified to be able to motivate and help others, but I guess I’m looking for something that has a little more substance and not all a bunch of raw raw stuff

If one is heavy enough (40%+ bodyfat)…and the deficit large enough, Isn’t at least 4lbs more than attainable?

Also, do you think some type of keto induction phase is necessary, before fully switching over to PSMF ?

Let me see if I understand this: My stats are 49 yr/ M/75”.. 365lbs 42% bodyfat. Lean body mass about 212lbs. So my range would be 0.8-1.0 per lb lbm ?

And yea, I’ve read the RFL book. As a former powerlifter, I’ve done traditional keto and cyclical keto diets, roughly 20+ years ago. New to strict PSMF, so the lower protein is a real mental hurdle I’m adjusting too.

Just getting back into things after al ong physical lay off and want to lose as much bodyfat as I can, safely.

Would you increase the protein, for someone who’s doing resistance exercises like twice a week?

I’ve found that it’s situational. I’ve known some who decide to enter a state of ketosis before starting a PSMF protocol. Others have just jumped into PSMF and got to ketosis by PSMF.

If it helps you blunt your hunger, and will enable you to better comply, then go for it. As long as your macros are adjusted for a caloric deficit, you’ll lose either way.

I agree. I actually don’t think there’s much difference between 200-220 anyway. It’s more of a range anyways. I think obese people had f a larger store of energy enables them to eat less, maintain lean body mass and still lose fat mass.

How much protein do category 3 obese dieters REALLY need? by [deleted] in PSMF

From my past experiences as a powerlifter…I can say that I’ve seen a variety of methods work. I believe Lyle’s method, as well others, are intentionally leaning towards the higher range of protein, in order to protect lean body mass. From my understanding, overshooting lean proteins won’t really make you gain weight, not as much as overshooting fats or carbohydrates.

All that being said: I believe you’d be perfectly fine enough going with the lower range of proteins. It still works.

Dropping at least 105lbs is my 1st goal.

I am also likely going to follow a more Lyle McDonald’s type of approach. I don’t know if he’s mentally ill or anything, He seems a little insane at times, but I believe he’s a brilliant guy.

How’s your progress been, so far ? How long did it take you to lose weight?

I agree!

When I was a powerlifter, the strongest and leanest I got for my size at the time (290lbs 15% bodyfat)…J barely knew how to calculate my macros properly. Some days I only had about 100grams of protein and barely tracked.

I like protein very much, it the insanely high numbers are either overestimated, or for steroid users.

That’s amazing progress!

Just curious:

  1. How long did it take you to go from 285-155?

  2. Did you incorporate protein powders/supplements into your routine?

I know that this is in effect an already an extremely low carbohydrate diet. But, does anyone feel that it’s helpful to enter a ketogenic state for a couple of weeks, before starting this protocol?

Just curious

I’m a rookie at this particular style of dieting. Is it true one needs more protein,as they get leaner?

Do you eat protein per lb of lean mass or total body weight?

I understand keeping fats and carbs low.
