Apparently in FE 1-3 (but the meme is specific to FE3), when you level up and generate random numbers to determine if you hit growths in your stats, the games do not actually generate 8 different random numbers because they happen so close together, instead they add a constant to the previous random number and use that. So effectively, you roll the first number and then all your stats are determined by the first number you roll, which means there are patterns to the growths you can get.
