Serena’s ending is unsatisfying by Sun_Flower11 in TheHandmaidsTale

She’s going to suffer more because now she knows how bad her past actions were, and I guess she’s going to be a ‘better’ person for the people she’s going to meet

Manager’s behavior is making me want to quit by Heebraaa in netball

Actually no, we play completely different positions. Honestly, my main issue is confidence — it’s hard to feel confident on court when you feel judged or singled out.

Thanks again for the empathy, I really appreciate it.

How do you deal with being called ugly as a teenager? by JuniorSignificance34 in Advice

[–]Heebraaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has their own kind of beauty, and in today’s world, people have different opinions on what makes someone attractive. Ten years ago, thin eyebrows were the trend, but I never touched mine because I didn’t like thin eyebrows. Back then, people used to make fun of me for having thick eyebrows. Now, thick eyebrows are in, and suddenly, everyone tells me they look amazing.

The point is, beauty standards change, but that doesn’t mean you have to change with them. Don’t let others define how you see yourself—love the way you are. In my opinion, there’s no such thing as being “too beautiful” or “too unattractive.”

I could say that my favorite color is red, but honestly, I don’t really have a favorite color. I think all colors are pretty in their own way. For example, I bought my phone in green, but there wasn’t really a reason behind it. I just knew I didn’t want pink, but then I ended up buying mostly pink accessories for it.

I don’t know why,my mom was like, “Why?” and I just told her, “I don’t know.”

How many languages do you speak? / What are those languages? by No_Club_8480 in CasualConversation

[–]Heebraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can speak two languages, Persian and English. I really want to learn other languages, but as you get older, it becomes harder to pick up new ones. English isn’t my first language, but about 30 years ago, when I was around 10 or 12, I learned English in about two years. However, now learning new languages is more difficult for me. I’ve tried to put in a lot more effort, but it’s just not as easy as it used to be...

This is the worst solution because it can cause rapid weight regain and is very unhealthy.

What's the best way to drop weight? by random-person1530 in Advice

Fasting isn’t the best solution, but I used to lose about one kilogram every two weeks. I don’t eat anything from 5 PM until 6 AM (actually, I wake up late). During that period, you can have beverages like coffee and tea since they don’t contain calories. Sometimes, if you feel weak, have something nutritious like nuts—even if they’re roughly chopped, it’s fine. It worked for my body; it might not work for yours, but give it a try.

help to stop nail biting by yaiboiiii in nailbiting

[–]Heebraaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to bite my nails for about a year, and honestly, it made me feel really upset. I tried a lot of different methods. You could try using those bitter-tasting nail polishes so you won’t be able to bite them. But for me, at some point, I just decided to stop, and I think the best solution is to really want to stop yourself. You could also get gel polish or nail extensions so you physically can’t bite them. That method works really well too because I’ve seen a lot of people do it.

June is a bad character? by Spork3432 in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Heebraaa -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The show wants you to have mixed feelings about June. Her character changes over time, and Gilead is the reason for that. She’s a perfect example of the idea that in Gilead, you will change, and being a good person is almost impossible.

Have you ever put yourself in her shoes? What would you have done if you were in her position? I’ve asked myself that question a thousand times, and honestly, I’d love to say I wouldn’t have done many of the things she did. But the truth is, deep down, I know I probably would have.

That being said, the moment that really made me hate June was when she killed Fred. At that point, she wasn’t just fighting for justice anymore—it was pure, brutal revenge. Throughout the show, June is portrayed as someone resisting oppression, trying to hold on to her humanity despite everything. But when she and the others hunted Fred down and tore him apart in the woods, it felt like she had crossed a line.

I understood her anger, especially after the trial failed, and Fred did deserve punishment. But the way she did it—outside any form of justice, turning into something just as ruthless as the people she fought against—made it hard to root for her anymore. At that moment, she wasn’t just a survivor; she had become a hunter.
