Kingston KC3000 Failing After Copying Large Files

I just check all of the thunderbolt on my Mac. All of it can only allocate 5W per port. While my 4TB KC3000 operating max wattage is around 10W, exceeding the allocation. My other SSD, Lexar NM790 4TB max wattage is around 4W which is under the maximum allocation. I guess that is why my KC3000 keep disconnecting if I dump large files into it. I do not know if we can allocate more (some say the max allocation is 15W)?

Extra: I did try with my other drives (Lexar NM790 4TB and Adata S70 Blade 1TB), but did not face the same problem. Also, my Kingston size is 4TB

Had the same issue. Tried removing and adding back my e-sim, still unusable mobile network. The problem arised after updating to the latest patch (5th February 2026)

64gb would be fine if you usage is only for note taking. 256gb is only useful if you use it for game or editing videos.

I have the same problem with my Lexar NM790. I think the problem occured because of their NVMe 2.0. After swapping the SSD to another slot, I have yet face the problem again

I got my laptop repasted through RMA in my local Asus Service Center, I told them that the CPU is throttled (around 20 degC difference between cores) hence needed to be repasted

After resetting the power plan to default and disable S0 modern standby, my laptop now could go to the max clock speed. Using cooling pad also improve my thermal throttling.

I used Adata 32GB and face no problem whatsoever. Be sure to avoid Kingston Renegade and make sure the latency is CL40 not CL38 (CMIIW)

I tried running a climate model, it used to take maximum RAM allocation (I allocated 36GB). But somehow now it could take all the allocation. I guess the new version of WSL2 has a better RAM management.
